There is a lot I have to get dialed in with the setup. Right now the small seat is folded forward and one bike goes in with the bars facing forward and the other goes in backwards. A small velcro strap on the handle bar and a rim keeps them stable. We MTB also, and I have not thought that one through really. My rack has the Ttrack in it so I may just add some fork mounts up there that I can slide out. How do you carry yours?Nice setup. How do you carry your bikes?
Ours is a 23 foot airstream and we’ve tried throwing them on a saddle blanket on the converted front bed which is not ideal. Lately we put them on some rock mounts roof trays on the LX which get a bit old too, throwing three bikes up there. I don’t know if it affects my mpg that much though. I’d like to put a hitch mount on the back of the trailer but I’m concerned that may be too much stress on the monocoque structure.there is a lot I have to get dialed in with the setup. Right. Weight is the issue an our 70 lb cargo bike Is the problem. I think my ambivalence will last long enough that the kids will have outgrown the bike before I decide. The other option is get a pickup but the thought of driving a truckI wouldn't hesitate to add a hitch and bike rack, with the caveat that it should be done with reasonable care and overall weight. Don't want to add a heavy hitch receiver with a heavy bike rack, and heavy e-bike(s) for instance. You might know that extra load there is a sure fire way to an unstable rig that can sway, with potential for frame separation and sag. Something around 200lbs total weight should be fine. With the best approach to maybe installing the Airstream specific aluminum rack.
That said, it can be done. With appropriate restraint. Bike racks in this position should be rated for it as it tends to see a lot of magnified motions and forces.
I've rented a 23D with a custom fabricated rear receiver and had 2 bikes on it. Worked great.
I custom added a hitch to my 27FB and have two lightweight aluminum bikes. Also works great.

Another option would be to have a bike rack setup above the propane tanks on the front of the trailer. It's a common setup in Australia.Right. Something like this:
This kind of setup not only doesn't hurt trailer stability, but actually improves it (provided your vehicle can handle the extra tongue weight, which is an easy task for a 200), keeps the overall vehicle+trailer length unchanged, still makes it easy to load the bikes, keeps them reasonably protected, etc. A great option IMO.
i also like the contrast of your rear and front tireWindow tint- looks really dark in the shade- just matched the front to the stock rears View attachment 3459035
So pretty out in Valley of the Moon. Rather be there than in the middle of the work week.
