My remote off grid cabin burned down in the Cameron peak fire in Colorado so I pulled a 21’ camper up. Views are more spectacular than ever with trees gone. One guy pulled a conex box up with a 454 and offered to pull it up (some hills are 16-22 degrees). I figured if his engine could do I’ll break my baby in doing it. Pulled it easy. Took 4 weekends to cut out way in from falling trees.

I do miss my truck. How do you guys store stinky stuff like gas and chainsaws? I built a platform on my rack for them, but it was so easy to toss them in my truck. I had a tundra with front and rear air lockers installed.

Couldn't agree more.

With big pillowy meats and AHC managing damping, the LX is such an assassin on washboard roads. More than once, I've literally blown past all sorts of built Jeeps and others on the track. They don't like Lexus's passing them in their supposed playground, but after pacing and watching them hop, skip, and yaw on long tracks, they relinquish. I've checked the shocks after 20 mile sections and they're barely warm which makes sense given the distributed nature of the AHC system and large fluid volumes. Tires do a lot here to contribute too.

Only vehicle that I enjoy bombing down washes together is with my friends Raptor on 37s. Now that's a purpose built beast. Yet he struggles more when navigating technical sections especially tighter tracks.

The combined lift with large tires, sensor lift, and AHC lift also feels like engaging a clearance cheat code. Don't worry about picking just the easy lines, as it can do the hard ones too.

The LX570 is such an underspoken and underrated rig. Many expect an LC to do the dirty, but only with a lot more suspension mods. Stuff the LX with 35x11.5s which is easy, 10 minute mild sensor lift, and it's literally off to the races on even difficult rated trails. Without much of any compromise to day to day. Just as you've done.

Only other addition that I'm enjoying more and more is the rear locker. Even more than I anticipated as it's satisfying and keeps the rhythm going to just tap a button. Versus the ceremony it is to get into CRAWL and letting the machine take over.

Here's a short vid from last weekend. Best part about it all is that it's such an effective swiss army knife. Love that this rig can handle 2000lbs with the same suspension setup, laden or not. Do goat things unladen and stuff 35s. Turn around and throw 1200lbs on the hitch and run 75mph on the freeway in total comfort and stability. Doing it all with aplomb.

You hit the nail on the head...

Theres something so funny about seeing you three wheel a stock looking LX with your kid playing around in the back.
Your truck is a hell of a sleeper, im aiming for something very very similar and my warranty is up soon enough :).

Can you walk me thru the swing out removal? I want to take mine off. I’d be very greatful.
Remove the plastic bumper so the dust cap is exposed. There is a torq screw and a few plastic clips holding each side on. Take the dust cap off and remove cotter pin then the bolt. Then you can take the swing out off. Be sure to cover the spindle so it does not rust. Sorry for no photos.

Anyone running heritage edition LC wheels on their LX? Post pics if you have them. Just picked up a set but wanting see what they look like before I buy tires.

Thanks for the pic and link, mine are going on black 2009 LX. I just need to decide on tires. I want next size up.
Nice, I think they look even better on black trucks. If you are going to run OE offset wheels, you can probably get away with a 32-33" tire, but if you try to go bigger than that you are going to want to consider doing something about offset with spacers. With a 1" spacer you can easily do 34s with a little plastic massaging.

In your other post you mentioned LT285/70R18. I wouldn't go that big without a spacer. LT285/65R18 is probably the biggest anyone here would recommend with et60 offset. Although I'll say, I haven't tried any of it , just parroting what I've read. I moved to 17" ET50 wheels from my stock LX 20s.

These are the BBS wheels off a tundra. Same wheel as the heritage, except not gold.
