Johnny did you notice this thread? This FJ43 has the same door opening on a soft top model.

Some one has cut down later longer doors to fit. I figured it had soft doors stock but now I rethinking that. I would love to buy it and restored it. The old back likes the longer wheel base.:frown:

Think this was for deeper water crossing etc ? ( not that the tub is not full of drain holes hehe )

Boy if i could only find somebody who was in toyota from 1955-1965 or so...there are sooooooo many questions :D

I would be happy just to find some one who worked for Toyota in their FJ40 research and development department in 1975 .:D

I guess it true what they say. The Japanese just copies the US on everything. I guess that holds true for the research and development.

I would probably been more interested in contacting them in 1975 then now. But for different reasons:rolleyes:

John

Cool! Have a stuffie for me! Did you get out to B.I.?

Love R.I. wish I could move back...

Pete

interesting photo must be a rivited window and short doors and solid pillar behind door...like the pics from pg12...cool pic

The 1962 FJ43 that sold in Australia this year has a lot in common with this one. Wouldn't be surprised if the 62 had at the very least it had a high B pillar. I would have really like to have gotten the FJ43 but don't need any more projects.

Oldgirl:
This beauty was found in Dubbo (Central West of NSW) 24 May 1991 It was for sale at $3000 (Aus$) Chassis Number 0-FJ25-20044 Engine Number I don't have. I thought that it was a lot of money, now I know it was a bargain. Haven't seen another registered and on the road since.
Regards
Steve

Hi Steve This is #103 sitting in wreckers yard now no engine. Cheers Fred
