Worth taking a read if you are thinking about spending your money to wheel at Hidden Falls. go back a few pages to see where it started.

To sum up, there is a section of a fence that runs along a trail. There is one section that is about 100-200 ft long and it looks like plenty of vehicles have hit it and possibly rolled into it. There is also a huge hole that looks like an ATV went through it. One of the WTF attendees had a picture taken of him slightly on a section of the fence, and now the property owner is charging him ~$2600 to repair the whole section of fence.

simple fix everyone that think this is wrong. ban the place from you list of wheeling for one year or cross it off all together.

also post up a shortened version in all 4x4 clubs that go there.

and remember if they try this once, & get away with it they will try again & it might just be U next time!

yeah it really sucks. Hidden Falls is one of my favorite places to wheel.
i'm not saying i'm not going to go back there because i probably will, but they are talking about moving Wheeltoberfest to Gilmer . i suggested moving it to Superlift.

I was looking forward to HF since everyone seems to enjoy it. You absolutely won't find me going there now.

The short version is what Layton posted earlier.......fence is damaged before WTF 2012.......owner acknowledges this fact........new guy hits a small portion of fence and does minimal damage with plenty of witnesses........new guy acknowledges this fact and accepts responsibility for the damage he caused........park owner / CEO hits him with a bill for $2600 because he assumes new guy did all the damage based on one picture that was supposed to have been taken by a park ranger who did nothing at the scene of the incident.......park also claims the trail was closed and it has been proven otherwise.

From what I can see the park CEO, Jeff, is just out to collect money by lying / bullying someone into paying a bill that is for damage not incurred by him. If that's how he wants to operate his business it's fine by me. Let him collect from the jeep clubs that go out there because he won't be seeing a dime of my money.

Very disappointing, seemed like a great park with multiple things to do

I can't say I'll never go now, but I'm much less motivated.

I'd have to agree that this is no way to handle any situation. Looks like all the otehr damage was done by people who never got caught and now we have someone who got caught and the owner is trying to stick him with the whole bill.

I've been wanting to go there for awhile but would be reluctant to go at this point. Seems we aren't alone on that also.

If this is how this guy operates, what happens when you hit a tree? How much will you get charged for them having to mark off the area, dig up the tree, plant a new one and wait for it to grow? I am inclined to agree with Paul (I can't believe I just typed those words ), if he gets away with it now it will happen time and time again. I don't have a spare $2600 that I am looking to part with. Convince me that there is something there that I can't do at any other ORV park and I might consider going but I do my best not to support ass hats and their habits.

I noticed a bunch of photos on this forum. Why did'nt anybody give those to us. All of your posts show me that you lack respect for other peoples property and do not feel like we should have upheld the law or rules in which each entrant agreed to.

We hold people accoutbale, if you have issues dont come to Hidden Falls. We will be fine without you.

One thing nobidy mentoied was how much we allowed yall to bend the rules. Last year we went to the county to get special permission to have fires at the 2011 WTF event and we had the fire dept. come out. We also could have kicked out many FJ's due to speeding, wheeling after posted trails hours and so on.

I will never put money over character. I have often thougt of closing the park and just allowing my family and friends to hunt on it. It's not worth the headache when people like you have no clue.

I have had threats and so on. You guys know where I'm at. Come get me if you have the balls. You guys are mighty strong behind a keyboard hundreds os miles away.

holy s***, what a read that was. Sounds like he was trying to clamin old damage as new damage insurance fraud . I would definitely have reservations if I were the claims adjuster for USAA

I do really like that park as well. They also have a very nice shooting range there. Who doesn't like shooting guns and wheeling?

I intentionally have stayed out of that thread for the exception of lurking because I didn't have anything of material to say... Other than he personally ill heartedly spotted me into a rock garden off a 3 ft ledge and then tried to tell everyone to push me forward where my transfer case would have gone bye-bye. Many people have told me he does this on a regular occasion. However true that is... I'm not sure. Hodges and quite a few others saw this personally, though. He lost my respect after the unprofessional and reckless stunts he pulled that weekend we attended the park. this charade on the blue room has only cemented it. There are 3 other parks in the south east Texas region on top of Parks in Tennessee, Arkansas, Alabama, locally in LA and north Texas. I think we will be okay.
