Thanks for Chiming in Douglas. Ultimately, I am leaving it to the trail guides for each trip. If you can swing the larger tires, I would recommend it! If it does not meet the minimum requirements, the trail leaders have been advised they have my ok to not accept you on their run. It would not be fair to the others on the run to have a vehicle that is not properly set up hold everyone else up and take away from their Rubithon Experience. This is part of the reason that I made sure to put all the requirements up on the website as soon as possible; to let everyone know what is needed and to give time to prepare.

I hope you can find suitable tires in time and look forward to seeing everyone on the trail, Eric

I understand the clearance issue, so we're thinking of purchasing some 255/85 16 (skinnys) if that's acceptable? We're also working on sliders and bumpers for this run. Thanks everyone for the input...

Wanted to say Hi, I've got the Tuesday Run, the first and very best Rubithon experience!

In early June I will be contacting everyone who has signed up for the run. I like to do initial rig inspections way in advance by phone so we don't have any surprises on Tuesday morning.

I would also like to invite all on this run to camp as a group Monday night in the Loon Lake area. Details to follow.

If you have signed up for this run please PM me and we can get started.

For you "out of towners" with tow rigs,
I live in Pollock Pines, last town before trail head, on acreage with plenty of space to accommodate several rigs and trailers. feel free to contact me.

Sig Line? "the most badass bumpers ever built"? I might have you whooped on that one. Game on!

And I also have some space for tow rigs and trailers if need be. June is getting here real quick. And I don't think we have to worry about snow! Unless Mother Nature decides to throw a curve ball at us.

Bruce, thanks for the offer. No Trailer or tow rig but i may stash my roof top tent at your place if you don't mind?

To 'Worknplay'. Yea but my bumpers were done for a lot less $ and I didn't have to wait 9 months to drive mine!
Ha!

Concretejungle, no problems with stashing tent just give me a call to chat.

That's pretty much where i'm at but i want to enjoy the trail too. So i will probably work with someone to drop it off at Tahoe and pick it back up.

Thank you for that info though. At least it makes me feel better that it can be done if i have to.
Which roof top tent?

I've ran it twice in my FJ Cruiser with an Autohome Medium. There were two tight spots, and I avoided Old Sluice.

I ran it with an old mombosa on my FJ 40 - I wouldn't ever do that again, of course that was the year with snow on the trail in July. I wound up backing the tent into a tree and damaged it.

It's a bit tippy, but not really bad. You just need to go a hair slower over the big bumps.

I think the 80 is wider than the FJC, so yours shouldn't hang over the body as bad as mine does.

It's tight in the springs down by "mog camp" with the rock overhang, and there were a few spots on the tahoe side in the trees that I just had to "watch". But you may be taller.

You'll be fine. Or you'll stack a rock or two to lean away

It's actually made by campa USA. It's basically just like a eziawn style folding RTT. It's 48"x48" when folded up.

I just think i will enjoy the trail ride and be able to play around a little more if i don't have the RTT up there. Again, i am planning on playing it by ear. When i get out there i'll decide to run it or stash it.

John, will we still be able to back track from the other end to access Mog camp?

Yes, the Rubicon Soda Springs property owners and El Dorado County will be moving the trail in that section up higher on the hill. And as it stands now DOT will be starting their work this year on the Tahoe side, at the Placer County/El Dorado County border near Sids grave. See you there, John

Just getting on board w/ this and this will be my first rubithon...
Can only run fri- sun.
Is the only way to register via MAIL? seems the online reg is not working??

Stoked for this. Not sure what to expect going in so late in the event.
Any pointers would be appreciated. Gonna go with the wheeler deal for the package? (2 dinners, t tees, raffle ticket)? I am assuming there are other folks who come in for the weekend as we will?

I just tried the online version from rubithon.com and it seems ok. The submit won't enable until you have all the required fields completed. If you want, email me at chairman@rubithon.com and I can send you the submittable version, may be a little easier. Thanks, Eric

The registrations are coming in good now! I realized I forgot to post up the March extra grand prize raffle ticket winner, so I will post up March and Aprils...

The March winner is Sammi Shaaya :D

And the April winner is Jim Brantley:clap:
