Thanks for posting these up. I think it will really help the guys that have never done the Rubicon, or if they have, maybe not in an 80 know what to expect and how to prepare. Looking forward to seeing you on the trail!

Thanks for the tips guys. I will wait till she has 35's and maybe a little more wear and tear.

Just wanted to know what I would be getting into before hand------------------not after.

Wasn't trying to scare you off. Its a fun way to get some "wear and tear". Not the the sort of dents that happen in a parking lot, much better stories behind them and they give your Cruiser a bit more "character".

Just to make aware, anyone that uses the online registration form, please don't forget to hit "Submit" on the bottom right corner. Feel free to print a copy for your records, but it will help me tremendously if you can remember :)

Only a few more days to get your registrations in to be in for the next extra grand prize raffle draw for everyone that has theirs done by the end of February!

Mine is in the mail!

Just follow my line. :grinpimp:

trust me that is a bad idea... his 80 isn't much of an fj80 any more.. even on 35's I wouldn't follow him.. and that was years ago.. but if you want to see someone wheel an 80 like a mad man he can do that..:cool:

Just a reminder, tonight is the last chance to get your paid registration in for the February extra grand prize raffle ticket. Get on it baby! Get that winch or power tank set up!:grinpimp:

I'm going to register. Just need a little clarification on fees.

Is it $110 for basic registration + $110 for a run, or does the $110 registration include the run?

$110 covers the registration. Think of the run just as how your getting to the event. It is, for a basic registration, $110 per vehicle. Not per person. So if it were to be you, your wife and a child, its still $110. That doesn't include any shirts, dinners, Saturday breakfasts, wine tasting fun or anything. Its the bare bones. The only requirement is you must be a current TLCA member.

You can get a new TLCA membership or renew you old one through the form as well.

Like on the form, I can't recommend the CalStar insurance enough. If you have a serious injury, that helicopter is your way out! IT AIN"T CHEAP BROTHER! For the $35, it covers your whole household.

I'm at the firehouse right now, feel free to give me a call 530-401-0800. Eric

Eric, You answered my questions. Thanks!

I just Paypal'd payment and emailed an application.

If there's an "Iron Butt" award for furthest distance driven, I should be in serious contention for it.

If your driving your rig, I'd say your right. Otherwise, I think the guy coming thats in Antarctica might have furthest traveled:hmm:

I got your registration and will be sending a PM to ya, Eric

Congrats to Marcus Moore, you won the extra grand raffle prize ticket drawing for February!

The raffle prizes are piling up. Now we have a camp shower, another warn winch, and 2 power tanks:clap: in addition to a lot more goodies. Get your registrations in!

Hey Eric, is there an award for the closest traveled? And have worked on all but one Rubithon? Living up on the Rubicon Trail all summer with a FJ40, weekly driving in and out should have some merit. This is gonna be a GREAT Rubithon. Can't wait to see you old timers again, and welcome the newbees. And to you newbees, don't worry, you will make it to camp and back to Lake Tahoe. Not leaving anyone behind. John Pardi, Pardion, also Firefly. Rubicon Trail Foundation Mid Trail Staff

Reffner may be willing to give away the ranchy wrench:p

If there is anyone trailering there Rig and wanting to exit on the Tahoe side. If I know how many I should be able to find a place to park your truck and trailer. You could drive from Tahoe or I also talked to a local tow company that could take your rig to Ice house. If Interested let me know the sooner the better so have an idea on how many will need to be stored

This is a rookie question, but can someone post a map of where the meeting place is so I can start planning the details of the trip out? Or even a link to a map

Tried to post a link to Loon Lake but it didn't work.

If you Google Maps Loon Lake California you get a pic of the Lake from space. If you zoom in you'll see the road. Follow the road to the end at the dam. From there, there's a dirt road to the base of the dam. That's the start.
