I was missing the scuff/sill plates on my '76 FJ55 restoration and I wanted the OEM look. Eric Ellis was kind enough to allow me to borrow his OEM plates to copy back in the spring of '08 I think. It took way too long to find the aluminum and a means to form it to mimic the OEM look but I think I can say that I have finally acheived that (not perfect but close).
I had to purchase a full sheet of aluminum in order to do this and I will be making these until that sheet of aluminum is gone. It will likely make about 18 or so sets. I have one on my '55, I have one for Eric for the trouble I caused him and I will make one for my '67 FJ45LV as I think they used a similar arrangement. That leaves about 15 sets available for both the FJ55 and the FJ45LV "crowds".
The shop screwed up on the first go around and made the folds too sharp for my liking (OEM has a more rounded bend and the first go round was a much more right angle). These first five or so will be available at $30/set since I consider them "seconds".
The next bunch have the correct smooth bend and will be $60/set.
I take Paypal and checks. PM me or post up if you are interested.
Here are some photos of the completed items both uninstalled and in my '76 FJ55.
The first photo shows both the OEM ones and my copies.
