Anybody know if the Scion units have a pre-amp outlet that will allow you to hook up another amp to it in order to drive a subwoofer? Also, someone mentioned that the wattage output from the Scion unit was kinda weak..... Isn't it like 40 watts per channel? I'm assuming that's plenty for a FJ-62. That's more than most aftermarket stereos.

no , they dont have an output for an aftermarket amp at all!!

mine sounds way better than the 1/2 worn out oem stereo

oem scion radio

I also just installed a scion radio in my 94. Sounds much better than the stock non-working CD player and it now plays CD's, MP3's. After unplugging the factory amp all speakers still play even the little woofer in the back plays. Very happy, just take your time trimming the bezel as I being impatient cut to much at one time.

Scion head unit

I just received 2 of these scion stereos of which one is going in my 80 the other one is up for grabs if anyone is looking for one ... pioneer model # DEH-m8047 95.00 shipped and yes they do "wake up" your sound system as well as the CD player actually works!! and the MP3 player as well they are i believe 160 watts output pm me if interested
