Just noticed that, I basically cut and pasted Shawns e-mail into the forum.

I'm trying to get him set up as a moderator but right now he can't even post.

I,m hoping it's meet 9:00 Leave 9:30. This will be the last open top run in the 40 and as cool as the mornings are a 9:30 leave would be better for me.

Ive never done Jumbo in the Grizzwald wagon yet...

BTW, I "straightened" my DS door out this weekend!:bounce::bounce2::bounce::bounce2:

Took some cohersion, but its pretty straight again...
Not perfect mind you, but its not all caved in anymore AAAAAND the woodgrain is UNSCATHED!:D
You can definately tell there's an OWIE there!

Guys,

I won't be able to make it.
Monica has made her row team. She'll be competing that day in Petaluma at the Wine Country Rowing Classic.

From the Sept minutes:

2. Next Club Run: October 6th, Poker run up Jumbo Grade. From New Washoe City to Virginia City. Bring your own lunch. Meet at the 7-11 on 3205 East Lake Blvd at 8:30 AM Leaving at 9 AM.

Was hoping to make this run but we have aquired season tickets to the Wolf Pack games. :) :crybaby:

It looks like, due to the issues we are having with the rear shock mounts, I too will not be able to make this run...which is a bummer because I was really looking forward to it.

Sam, Christo and I spent a boat load of time trying to brainstorm a way to mount the upper Fox shock mount above the stock shock perch to no avail. I originally thought ("assumed") the 80 series and 100 series upper shock mounts were very close in design...but they're not.

I actually thought I had it figured out once today...and may actually have done just that...but the only way to really find out if it would work was for Sam (Sam was about 50/50 on this approach) to actually do the fab work. I could see his concern for the potential limitation/issue...so we decided to move the shock mounts to the rear of the axle via custom brackets top and bottom per his ultimate recommendation. This accomplishes many things including moving the lower shock mount behind the axle housing and about 4" higher up for maximum protection; cutting off the lower stock shock mount thereby eliminating a rock snag point; making the complete shock system easily accessed; and more than likely longer travel with this mount system.

Sam utilizes a similar mounting system on the H2's he mods for Rod Hall and others....and it looks quicksilver alright.

Supposed to be done sometime next week.

Pics when available ;-)

P.S. It really SUCKS being the first one sometimes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok gang need to know who needs a ride if anyone does as i might have room might not not sure yet but let me know if you need a ride by tomorrow evening and we can go from there
