Have fun out there, fellas! I'm in Logan, Utah so I will not be present.

I was up on Old Stage/Gold Camp the weekend before last to do some updates on trailsoffroad website...15th if I recall correctly. I drove a portion of Saran Wrap (370D) then hiked to and above the V notch (it is really worn deep and steep with a near-vertical 5-foot exit!). There's a bypass ("user created route") around it and the 30" rock further to the west/northwest.

Then I drove 379 up to 379A (Mount Baldy) and to the summit and back. This road is in good shape/easy.

Edit: @LCPilot be sure to invite the newest club member, Nicole!
Tracy, did you repaint the 60?

Sorry I'm going to back out. My brother was supposed to take my mom to the airport today, but the car won't make it back up Old Stage.

I talked with Zac and he will still be linking up with everyone out on the trail.

Thanks for a great day out. Here are a few pics I snapped:

We had a great day. We met at Safeway and aired down in the parking lot. 4 Lexus and 2 FJ80s headed up Old Stage Road. Pretty soon we came across Zack who had driven his FJ80 down Old Stage Road from Cripple Creek. The group continued up hill and went down FR371 (Emerald Valley road. The Broadmor maintenance crew was most accommodating by plowing the road to the ranch gate for us. Next we took FR 381 to where it split off into 3 other branches. Paul swung a little wide and nosed into a ditch that was hiding under the snow. Dave wanted to try out his new winch installation. A short pull and Paul was back on good ground. We drove out to Old Stage and turned off onto FR379. After a ways up the road David dropped a tire into a washout. Paul drove past and hooked up a strap and just spun tires on the packed snow. Vic wanted to try his winch and redirected from a tree to David's front bumper. Vic's winch rope was not connected to the drum and just let the drum rotate without putting much energy into the pull. David used his own winch to pull himself out of the hole. On up the road, the group came to a hill that had a nice icy stretch. Chains were mounted on tires and soon everyone was up the hill after a lot of spinning tires and throwing snow and dirt. The snow stopped after dumping about 14" on most of the trail. Soon the sun came out and we got beautiful views of the South side of Pikes Peak. We removed the chains on Seven Lakes road and the group split up. Some went South back to the Springs and the rest headed up towards Victor. Just before the blacktop we pulled over and aired up. Some others took off and the rest ate dinner at The Creek Restaurant in Cripple Creek.

That was a fun trip. My first time installing and digging with chains on. Makes me want to get another pair for the front! What a game changer. A second set would have made that down hill section a bit less sketchy. Ha
