I might be able to make that. I will check my calander. Fingers crossed.

Never have driven past the parking lot at the Holy Jim trailhead. Just more dirt road? Go anywhere? Worth a quick expedition to explore?

Just ends a little further up where some of the cabins are. Nothing special.

As for passes - the America the Beautiful Interagency National Parks Pass also counts as a Forest Adventure Pass so $80 covers everthing except State Parks.

Im game for any of that. We carry the yearly ADV pass.

If the parking is tight at the parking lot maybe we can carpool in your rig to the trailhead. :)

I have very mixed feelings about this pass. It was supposed to be a trial project and no one at the FS has yet proven it's success nor can they document where the funds are being allocated and spent.

That little waterfall is our stock hike for Webelos bridging over to scouts. Fun little hike I'm always up for. Absolutely will need the adventure pass to park there. I'm with Dave on the yearly pass!

The trail can be magical in spring and fall.

OK, besides Cook's Corner or cooking our own food my next suggestion is Rose Canyon Cantina. It's less than a 1/4 mile from the Trabuco Canyon meeting place, great Mexican food, drinks and a cool patio atmosphere.

Excellent pictorial directions from anywhere. These directions are almost exactly the same to our meeting place, just don't turn onto Rose.

I'm in Playa del Rey...can't get much closer to LAX without planes landing on you.

As long as I'm not doing PM work, I'm good to go. I've got a farewell CA trip to plan and need the Cruiser in tip top shape, namely the heater core and AC fixed.

You better bring her Dave. ;)

Let's see I am going to try real hard to make this.... just to see the old gang, Sorry I have been on another universe for several months. Not much 4x4 action where we are going but good place to hang out. A Hike to the falls woudl be fund too. Did we decide on Rose's Cantina or Cooks for eating or just to meet at the the Holy Jim canyon intersection, me confused.....this is a 20 min drive for me, thank goodness.;)
