Just checked with the other halfs schedule.
Im not working and shes not working that night.

Only hitch is that I wont be able to leave St Clarita until 0900 - but traffic should be light since its Sun AM.

So Ill be checking this thread for the agreed time and exact meet place and coordinate with the majority of the group.

See yah!

How about 10:30am at the enterance to Holy Jim. Cross streets are Trabuco Canyon Rod and Trabuco Creek Rd in Rancho Santa Margarrita. Should be an easy place to find and meet up.

Since the Silverado gate is now open, a run up to the top might be fun, but can't remember how long it takes. We could run up and over Main Divide and finish at the biker bar near the junction of Main Divide and Hwy 74. Can't remember what it's called - Hell's Kitchen or something. They play blues music and have a hell of a burger bar served out of a coffin.

Cook's corner will be pretty busy, but there's usually a fair amount of car parking on the dirt lot to the north since the bikes get parked/displayed closer to the street. By May they might already have the grill going and maybe even live music so that could be cool for lunch.

To run up to the top to Main Divide takes like 45-60 mins. To continue on to Saddleback peak where the radio towers is, that's another hour at least. So if we head up to the towers and come back down the same way. thats at least 3-4hours right there easily, especially if we hang out at the top.

The only closure i know about right now is Indian Truck trail. Storm damage.

North and south Main Divide show open on the USFS website.

So that might be a fun run. Would take at least 3-4 hours if not 5 to run across to the 74. Depends how fast we run it. It would be an all day run for sure.

If we do that, i'd recommend people bring a sack lunch or if we do the lunch/early evening dinner... have a large breakfast.

I've led the Thanksgiving run across from Corona to Ortega and that took like 6 hours. It's a long run, about 40 miles the whole stretch.

Sounds like a good plan.

This is probably the most realistic option for the most people from the time perspective.

This sounds good but I'm confused. Are we going up Silverado taking main divide to Santiago Peak or are we meeting at Trabuco Canyon and heading up to play in Holy Jim Canyon. Eating at the no name cafe or at Cooks Corner? The Trabuco/Holy Jim Canyon Trail get's really busy on weekends but it still pretty. I'm up for what ever works for the majority,we could do both for those with nothing better to do.:)

My understanding is that we'll just be running Holy Jim and then getting lunch afterwards at Cook's Corner.

Looks like May 3rd will be a happening day at Cooks. Maybe we could get the rigs blessed too, I could you use the extra protection.
