Snuck down the back roads to the muffler shop today, got the exhaust done. It's like a different truck now, not hearing that open exhaust.
But...on the way back to the shop, lost the brakes. Pedal just goes to the floor. Popped open the good and my brand new master cylinder is leaking fluid bad at the base of the large cup. Awesome.

Man, sorry to hear about the leak. That sucks when something new like that lets go. In the meantime ( and you probably already know this) but make sure and get all that brake fluid off of everything immediately. There are few more effective paint removers than brake fluid!
Good luck. That suxs. How much of the mechanical stuff is brand new or rebuilt?

I can't think of any mechanical part that wasn't rebuilt or replaced. Most all are new, oem or Aisin.
Also have a small heater pipe leak at the firewall. So have a couple issues to fix over the next few weeks.

As to be expected with a test run. Just tweaking now ( minus the master cylinder). Can help defective parts. With the exhaust done now it will be a more peaceful to tweak engine performance.

Thanks, but paint is gonna be a while I'm afraid...40 got bumped down a few notches on the ladder.
That said, not far away from tags and inspection. Just need to fix the blinkers (new relay on the way), fix the tail lights (for some reason brake lights and turn signals are reversed) and work out an idle/dying issue (maybe timing will fix). Hoping to have all that done by mid June, then get her street legal and tagged.
Plan is to work all the bugs out, add lower steering, recover the seats, etc, over the summer. Once all that's done it will be time for paint!

Had to put her on the back burner for a while and divert funds to the 100. I've cranked her up every few days since June, fires right up on the first try, no leaks to be found.
Soon as it cools off a little ill start back in on it. Gotta get the leaking brake MC changed out, get the timing set properly, and she ought to be fully road ready. After that it's just a matter of laundering enough money out of the account to get her painted up!

Work on the 40 has officially recommenced. Ordered a new check valve for the new to me brake booster today, will change out as soon as it arrives. Then hopefully get the timing set correctly over the weekend. Would love to drive her around Sunday...

I wish, but no. I can't make it this year either. One of my close friends is getting married, and that's his bachelor party weekend.
After 2 failed attempts to make a complete crawl (first year I knew I only had one night going in, sick family last year), I was hoping this year would be easy, but not the case.
Will have to catch you guys next year.
