To anyone reading this- sorry, you are unlikely to find any useful information here. I am starting this thread just to keep pics and build info, rough parts costs and any other tidbits I'm likely to forget or lose.

Traded labor to Russ on his shorty powerstroke for the 40. He acquired it 25+ years ago from a scrapper buddy of his. Pics from first time I saw it.

Last pics day 1 retrieval prep. Camera phone tells me this was dec 19 2021. There were a couple more partial days spent clearing brush and other cars/iron between the 40 and the path out of woods. No pics so not sure what days this occurred, was afternoons after work.

Sun jan 16 drove to b.f. nowhere southern mo. For hardtop/doors. Ran into huge blizzard, 12 hour trip turned into 16. Alternator on Tacoma took a dump 3.5 hours from home. In the dark. In a blizzard. Bought the only 2 batteries Walmart in the town I made it to before headlights crapped out had. Fed the truck batteries to get home. Unplugged trailer lights, no foglamps, blower motor (heater). Sucked but made it home under our own power.

Jan 29 2022 road the tractor to Russ's. It's cold. Drag 40 out of woods and load her up. Steering gearbox is seized, won't steer. Getting onto trailer took a bunch of dicking around. Thank God for winch and snatchblock.

Mon jan 31 got the steering draglink popped loose so I could turn (steer) the wheels. Factory 16" steelies off 06 taco drag on tie rod ends, now front end doesn't want to turn(roll). Get pissed, use loader to drag it off trailer and push into shop ahead of snow/rain. At least it'll stay dry now
