Had a buddy come by with his motorhome, asked if I could take a look at his brakes... Pulled the rear dually tire off and found this.

What do you think? Good for another couple 1000 km?? :grinpimp:
If I didn’t know better, I’d think he’d have heard a bang… but I’ve lost a couple wheels like that with hardly a bump and no noise.

I was gonna offer a spare wheel… but I think shipping would be a deal killer. I’ve still got 4 spare wheels like that on rims.

Was still holding air just fine, hard to he had scraped it at something or if it had split where it Was dry rotted
Probably rolled over something. With such a small tire (185/75R16) it wouldn’t take much. Are they ever an E rated tire?

And I thought my 225/75R16s were small for a dually.

Moved a tiny home across town for a friend. Can’t do that with a Toyota. If you’ve never towed with a Cummins, you just don’t know.

I guess my Toyota doesn’t count since it has an engine swap… I’ve dragged a 15 ton truck out of our yard with it. Don’t need no Cummins… :D
That said, the 90” wheelbase wouldn’t be idea.

Although the rig with the 7.3 PSD would be my vehicle of choice for that job.

Cummins are pretty amazing.

Used to tow 10k lbs (including trailer) sailboats long distance with a 7.3 n.a. Ford. Nice comfy truck, but **** hills were slooooow.

Last trip was over the coq to Kelowna. I was in first gear and could barely keep egts under 1400f.😬

Mud flap near the exhaust melted. 🤣🤣🤣

Never had a n.a. 7.3, but the turbo one cruises along pretty well. It was an engine built to work, and it does the job well.
A friend of mine drove tow truck in Calgary… one of their trucks that they regularly flogged was pinned at 99,999 hours on the hour meter. It had been there for many years. Their 6.0 trucks needed head gaskets and studs every year or so. The 7.3 wouldn’t die and just kept on going. Even with all those hours, it would still beat the 6.N0 trucks across an intersection.

Met a guide hauling 20 horse trailers up north way back 250 kms past Ft St James. Had two trucks,
Ford and Dodge. Both 1 tons. Dodge was clear winner and favourite in head to head towing power. But I do know a guy who
runs the Duramax that impressed me all to heck, my impression is much nicer to drive than the others.

Picked up some 9kg bags of pet safe -26* Ice melt on sale. Reg $30 at Walmart. If anyone is interested, $10 each or 2 bags for $15. Let me know I bought extra and we can work something out.

Picture taken in Sooke apparently. Thought this was just magic that happened in the Amazon!? Well, if the fungus sticks with wasps I guess I'm not too concerned...

I hate clickers...🤣

Now I'm curious to see if there's an article about that being here. I just saw a thing about ants getting that, but I didn't think it was up here...😳

A bit of looking, and I think this is the guy. Looks like he's been eating mushrooms too....so hard to say about how legit this is, haha.

Pretty cool stuff. This would be viewed as invasive species for BC then? Seems like a nasty little bugger if it started eating he wrong things.

There goes the bee population. Nuke all fungi's. Please leave the fungals.

Coolest thing at Atlanta airport. The rest is comparable to jeeps.

Toyota Epic S22 Wakeboarding boat. I had no idea. Used the VT330i 4L V8 from a Lexus. Not so popular.
Just find it interesting read.

Been sidetrack this week. I’m somewhat surprised by how beefy the beam it runs on. I feel like it’d support a lot of weight.

Having now installed it, I understand why everything online suggests it’s not a DIY project. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart.

Random spare parts… I have to wonder how the TPI compares to a starter motor… 🤷‍♂️
