It poured from 4am until about 9am. For the first time in 4 days there was no visible fires on the Mountian last night. Hopefully the fires are knocked down enough that the fire crews can get them under control.
I ran into some USFS workers yesterday who were stopped and spoke to them and they said they had been flown in from Idaho to help stop the fires.

It's so crazy how different the weather can be on either side of the ridge. Especially in the winter.
That last rain amounted to ~1-1/4" here in western Loudoun.
Lots of airborne ash up here. AQI still green, but my respiratory wouldn't know it.

Hey guys, sorry but I was in remote Idaho/Utah. I didn't see the last-minute workday cancellation notice from Jazmin before Saturday Noon (Mtn Time). I hope noone attempted to make the trip up the mountain.
Bumping this back to the top... are we set for May 11th as the new date for the clean up?

I will be there on May 11 with a saw and cert. Let's hope it goes well.
I will be there with hand tools and a hang over.

). From the discussion had at the recent monthly meeting, it appears that there aren't many fallen tree situations but there is plenty of brush and the like that needs to be cut back. Bring tools for cutting that kind of stuff (weed eaters, trimmers, etc). Lunch will be provided.
