Hello all,

Yesterday when I started my 98 a winding sound started. It was more prominent when the engine was cold and lightened up after driving around for 20 minutes. Linked below is a short YouTube video of the sound this morning after warm up. It was definitely more pronounced when steering, but I dont think it was tied to the steering rack - more like the extra load on the engine with the power steering pump. Thanks for any idea and you help!

Likely fan belt's pulley's bearings need some love. I also hear what many be vane (power steering) pump. Turn your steering wheel lock to lock and hold at lock. See if sound changes.

Thank you! If i hold the steering at the lock, I don’t believe the sound is any different from the past 14 years of ownership. It sounds like more load. Do you have time soon for me to drop it off at your place and take a look?

Sure most any day, morning are best right now. Needs to be a dry day, as we'll look at it together in my driveway.
