Simple answer: Yes. Assuming your rig has never seen salt. Then there shouldn't be rust. You can use a rubber washer and a button head stainless steel machine screw in to the captive nut. @cruiserdan did this.

I'm not sure why you would though. But yes, it can be done.
Because you don't ski?

Nice rack mate, your latch idea is neat. I've also designed a sleek attachment for the COMBAT RACK system, I felt it was the weakness of the Prinsu both aesthetically and from what I could tell functionally.

All the best with the venture, I'm enjoying the challenge of getting the CR business off the ground on the other side of the World here in the NZ/AUS markets.

Actually I used countersunk stainless steel screws and rosette or finish washers.

just some product feedback, having an option for a front windscreen panel that will fit standard size led light bars would be a big selling point for me, similar to pics above, as well as having another option for a mesh floor setup with more tie downs......

What he /\ said.
Wind deflector that allows a light bar to be flush or lower than the load bars.

Be absolutely certain to use stainless hardware. Otherwise you are wasting your time. Finish washers are hollow on the backside and I fitted o-rings inside the cavity to aid in sealing the insert. I do not remember the size but they filled the cavity and compressed enough to form a seal but not stick out past the washer outer edge.

Also, can I mount my ski racks to those cross-bars?

What ski racks do you have? My Yakima ski racks mount with a round bar adaptor, so how to make that work with the T slotted extrusion?

Go to post #63, The PRINSU How To Thread This would allow a direct fit of the older round bar Yakima accessories. Some items could possibly mount to the sides of the T slot cross bars with longer carriage bolts.

i have the yakima fat cats and they work great on my prinsu. No additional hardware and quick and easy to install and remove.

So I have the existing luggage rack/cross bars on my truck. What needs to happen with those mounts in order to use this rack? I know some people remove them, weld up the holes, repaint, etc. I might want to go back to the original or sell the rig with the original. Can I just take the original equipment off and leave a bolt in the hole?

Also, can I mount my ski racks to those cross-bars?

The luggage strips can stay, but the t-slot cross bars just barely clear. Mine are still on my 80 and it works fine. you don't have to hide the threaded inserts from where the strips were attached, just stop the water. I like Cdan's approach very much.

Not sure what your ski racks have for attachment. It there are straps or clamps, you can go around the cross bars. If there are holes, you can use a bolt and T-nut to bolt it to the extrusion

There are a few types available. I will get some available to purchase as well.

There is a light bar type front panel that will fit a single row 40" light bar. I am using Also working on a mesh top. I think it may be 2 panels instead of one, a front and a back that bolt down to the cross bars.

I said I would have pricing by today so even though it will be this weekend to show some nice complete photos of all the pieces to the rack, I will stand by what I said.

The roof rack package will include the following:

2 Laser cut aluminum side plates powder coated in textured satin black or satin aluminum color

Front laser cut wind deflector with or without a light bar cut out (matching powder coating)

9 T-slotted 1"x2" cross bars(one of which holds the wind deflector) in black anodizing or clear (silver) anodizing

8 custom adjustable latch assemblies powder coated to match the rails.

Stainless bolts/nuts for the rails and latches

Custom stainless reinforcing washers for the rails

Rubber edge molding for the side rails and wind deflector

Standard rack price will be $850.

I am going to give $100 off of the first ten racks- so $750 for the first 10 plus shipping cost.

Shipping will be no later than 2 weeks from Monday. I'd like to be quicker and may well be, but I do not want to be later so I am making a bit of a cushion. I have all items in hand or on order now and it's looking good.

This weekend I will post up pictures of an installed light bar, the silver colored rack, detailed pictures of the mounting, and maybe a video of the ease of install/removal.

I have a few p.m's indicating the desire to buy a rack already so I will be making sure those members have a chance at the first 10, as I think that is fair.

Thank you all for the interest, it is much appreciated. P.M. me for orders, please.

That's a damn fine price for a good quality product!

How do we get on the first 10 list? Also, what's the shipping cost going to look like? Waiting on final pics, but definitely interested.

Just PM your zip code and I will get you a shipping number. More detailed pictures tomorrow and or Sunday at the latest. Just drove by a friends house and lo and behold, a pole barn partially done, and a stack of trusses on the ground. Stopped to catch up and they are short handed, sooo, for a few hours in the a.m. I am helping set trusses. It is what it is. My home projects can wait so hopefully I will still have time for the roof rack work too.

Sorry @LS1FJ40 , it isn't a Lowes pole barn package.

While not in the market, I do like your design and commend you for bringing another good option to the market.

Once you dial in your 80 rack expand the idea to other vehicle models so you have a larger customer pool $$$

I am interested in a rack plus shipping to 95920? Would it be better to wait for trail tailor to carry it in Redding or does it matter? Thanks for your time

Thank you. I do have others in the works.
The 60 series rack will be ready next.
