Thanks to @beno, I have received the longer hose now! I should get those in tomorrow then get all the brakes bled. Then put on the new tires/wheels and be ready for a road test! Although I wish I had full floaters in the rear, these semi floater axles are pretty beefy!

I have a few rear 70 series full floaters on the way if you want one.

Finally bit the bullet and decided to replace the clutch. It felt fine, but a clutch kit was on the pallet of stuff I got from Cruiser Outfitters. Ordered a tranny jack ( i always wanted one for my shop anyway).

Hi richj11,
I myself just purchased a 85 BJ70, was wondering where you picked up the new wheels.
Mine are pretty rusty and pitted. You have a link/part#?

By the way great thread (subscribed), I have only had mine for a few days now.

Thanks
Greg

See Beno's reply for the part #. Turns out my local Toyota dealer has a website not associated with the actual dealership. I was able to pick them up at a slight discount, but they are still pricey, but worth it.

You are fairly local. I'm over in Kitsap County. Nice looking rig you picked up there. :)

Welcome to the club! Enjoyed reading through your thread so far.

If you're going to do any wheeling, look up the u bolt flip kit from 4plus to complete your new suspension install.

I retained the PTO and had a custom front bumper made by @Cruisin' Very happy with it. Here's a photo from my trip home, not too terribly far from where you are.

Gotta admit I've never seen a 73/74 with S/F axles and a tin hat diff.
Our Australian one were all F/F full cast housings interesting the JDM's are so different. I did the longer brake lines too.
Mines in bits getting baselined and Pro-Lockers instaled 30+ years worth of greasy crud to cut through lol. Cant wait to see how it goes compared to the 80 in the bush.

I got tired of the JDM AM radio and bluetooth setup I had installed. Oh yeah, those tiny 4" dash speakers weren't much to speak about either. I went ahead and purchased a BLAUPUNKT 24 VDC unit from overseas. It cost me a bit over $300, but worth it to be able to get a decent head unit and not deal with voltage converters and/or relays. Also put some decent speakers in the door panels. Very nice improvement.
