Hi y'all. I'm from Dallas and recently purchased a local 2009 LX570 with 130k. I know its high mileage, but I'm confident that with the right maintenance I'll have a vehicle that will run another decade. I had done some research on the 100 series, and really wanted to buy one, but was pushed to the 200s after reading some posts here. Additionally, those suckers in decent condition are really hard to find. I can already tell there are some nit-picky things I'm going to want to deal with, but unfortunately I made this purchase with a whirlwind of other things going on in my life - new job, new home, sold a business, mom retired, etc. I hope to spend some time going through the forums trying to figure out what the normal gremlins are, out of the ordinary maintenance to look for, and that sort of thing. If anyone could link me to a wiki, or a good place to start on my research again, it would be greatly appreciated. Prior vehicles include F350, Discovery II, Wrangler YJ, HD Ram. I'm used to having a vehicle that takes a bit of TLC. Looking forward to being a part of this great community!

Welcome to MUD!

Post up some pics of your rig.

Welcome!!!!

Looks like Mogwai already linked to the FAQ, but that's not representative of everything that is here. This place is an incredible resource if you get real comfortable with the search feature. Folks are always ready to lend a hand/mind to any problem you might come across, but I'll tell you from my own lessons learned, the information you seek is probably already here and just a search away. That said, getting good at searching takes some trial and error, so don't get discouraged. If you want any help with it, hit me up. If you post up a question, someone will certainly help you, and four others will suggest you search for the answer. LOL. This is an incredible community of extremely knowledgable folks and people like me who are just learning. There is a lot I don't know, and I ask a lot of questions, but folks have been patient, generous and helpful across the board. I think you will like it here. Also, PICS!!!!!!!!!

130k miles? Heck, it’s not quite broken in yet. Check service records to see what it might need and take a careful look at the radiator for signs of a crack on the square thingie to the left of the cap. Enjoy it!

Can only tell you from my experience.
Number 1 major issue is radiator, if you have a crack you will have to replace it. I waited almost 10K miles with small hair line crack and apoxy patch.

Number 2: AHC fluid flush. It’s one thing that not very common and most lexus techs don’t know how to do it right. Mine shows service around 60k I did flush at 85K. And No, they didn’t do it right. Fluid was dirty.

Number 3: drive shaft zirks. No one lubricated them either.

Number 4. Rust proofing frame. I live in mother Virginia and it’s a problem here. It was my choice but I feel like I did the right thing.

Welcome. In addition to the previously mentioned threads, there is a great LX pic thread. If your short on ideas or have 12 free hours on your hands, it’s awesome to see some of the rucks in there.

Congrats on the purchase. Like others have said, you'll eventually realize that 130k is actually low miles for these things.

Good list. If however your planned modifications include going to a lift and ripping the AHC out, then no need to flush.

I make sure to hit the drive shaft zircs once a year. Some require some moving the truck back and forth to line it up so you can access them

Since you live in Dalas were it is dry and hot I wouldn't rust proof the frame.

Congrats on your purchase and welcome
