Change to coil springs in the ear and let them keep the air bags captive. Hell for thatatter just add some that have like no spring rate at all that will fit around the bags to keep them in place.

don`t want to clutter up your Livi`n the dream thread with tech info so will post it here .
great read been reminiscing the area been a while need to go pass again.:)

7,3 are cold natured as you well know:D
so a few thing ya can do to improve the cold start.

the glow plugs stay on way after the light goes out so way I do is wait till I hear the fuel pump quit then try jut a few revs turn key off repeat wait till the pump quits then try again crank no more than 3 to4 sec in most cases will fire if not try one more time.
it is possible that you have a glow plug problem just have to test the system several good vids on youtube .

not sure what oil u are running but 7.3 do like the Motorcraft diesel oil has additives to help against the sheering of the HP pump going to 3200 psi.
didn`t believe it till I tried it a big difference.

here is a list of spares ya may want to consider caring

fuel filter two

Cam position sensor two they are all POS & can leave ya F- O- R- D :bang:

a fuel pump is nice to carry as well and the spring lock tool for the fuel line.

a injector control pressure sensor can fail & also leave ya in F-O-R-D mode.
not an absolute requirement cause can just unplug it truck will run fine but will through a engine light.

other than those items they are built proof

Mite work indeed. I'll look into replacin' 'em when I replace my leaf springs.

You can't ... that's why it's a closed thread.

That is correct. And mine won't start below freezin'. Although far more likely to be a relay problem or wiring harness problem than the glow plugs. One of these days I'll look into it. :meh:

I run Shell Rotella. In all my diesels ... personal and at work.

I agree my tire-findin' friend. :frown:

This place has gone to hell since the communists announced they forbid pics of pretty women. Must be gay.

:flamingo:

I agree and was thinkin' the same thang.

Just got my PM returned from Mace and gotta lead on a place in Vegas where I can weigh each corner and figured out it's only a 5 hun'erd mile drive up to Grand Junction where they make the springs.

Prob'ly try to get 'em done after the Round-Up. Only gonna replace the rear ones. Front ones are real nice as they are. :meh:

I know a place in Ft Worth. Tribe4x4. They have race scales.

I would think the spring place would do that though if you go in person.

You going to be running Alcan Springs?

Maybe so. I'll go talk with 'em after the Round-Up. :meh:

... and then play around in Moab for awhile. Can fly in and outta Grand Junction.

"Note to Self: Things to avoid when Livin’ the Dream:

1) Cold nights … ‘cause the truck won’t start.
2) Dark nights ... ‘cause ya can’t see the friggin’ road."

Tryin' to reduce my limitations:

Here's the new super glow plug relay they say to install. Reckon the Mes'kins make a better relay than the Chinese.

And here's some big-ass lights to light my way. 8", 130 watt halogen floods. Screamin' deal on Amazon for 282 bucks delivered in two days to my office door. Should now see good ... and look good. :grinpimp:

Just gotta pack 'em in my suitcase to get 'em to my home. :meh:

best done 250 I've seen in, well, decades, well done and I fully agree on the LED bars, don't do it, pods maybe, bars NEVER!

one of the problems with LED lights is that they do not create any heat. Which means your headlights can ice up during a snow storm..
