Logandale system, spring valley, Nellis dunes, Lake mead... Everything from exploring rarely used BLM roads to the desert wildlife range, I do get around ;)
Since you know the area, Its near Alamo, that the BLM has allotted a fairly large portion of land for trail use ( thats what I`m looking forward to!)
What were your favorites?
Now it's all houses but there use to be a nice loop on Smoke Ranch from Brinley Jr HS up through "Little Red Rock" over to Calico Basin. We use to do some very mild rock crawling on the Little Red Rocks. I lived off of Lake Mead And Micheal Way so that was the favorite.

Other favorite trips:
Lovell Canyon
Lake Mead, West End Wash
Nellis Dunes
Wheeler Pass
Fossil Ridge, Morman Peak
I don't know the name of the trail but we use to go from Sand Hill over the mountains to the Dry Lake south of Rail Road Pass.

Alamo is a neat little town. There is a route you can take from Corn Creek across the bombing range  to Pharanaget Wilde Life Refuge. We would do that then eat dinner in Alamo and drive back to Vegas. I'm guessing the area on the back side of Pharanaget WLR is the area the BKM designated for OHV use.

Gee, I dont remember the last time I heard the name Brinley.. That sure brings back some memories !

The route to Calico Basin is now closed, As there is a huge development being built at the top of Charleston Blvd. now, but you can (if sneaky) still go from little red hills up and over to the Mt Charleston highway, but the trail is getting uglier and uglier from each summer flood season. Potato ridge road which runs from Red Rock to Pahrump is amazingly still open but I am sure its just a matter of time before its closed.

The road to Alamo via Corn creek is also closed due to too many fools trying to cross the dry lake after its rained and getting stuck , the Rangers got sick of getting called out there to help :(

We run Wheeler Pass every year or so, nice scenery but its still fairly easy to go through.

Thanks for the memories rusty !

Oh, Back on tech content..

Those Swampers kick A$$ !!! :)

You dont even want to know 1Loud, Its bad... REAL bad ! I cant even get the trans to up-shift to Overdrive on a mild grade anymore. So far, I`ve used almost a half of a tank to go only 90 miles !!!!!

Well, you only get about 7-8mpg then? Holy hell batman! I thought i was bad getting 9-10mpg and being really happy when i see 11-12mpg(thats when i do nothing but smooth highway driving for a whole tank...and not goin full throttle at all, if i do that i can literally watch my gauge drop).

Any update on the off road performance of the new swampers?

Sorry I havent given any definitive feedback on the tires yet, I have been busy of late with other projects but here is what I have experienced so far...

I ran my 100 up the road to a familiar hill to see how they performed... its fairly steep with deep whoops composed of loose marble-sized rocks and dirt. Although I dont suggest this, first I ran up it with "street" pressure (around 40 psi) It struggled a bit at first and the TRAC kicked in a lot more than usual but it still climbed up it (for the most part) fairly easy.

As I was dropping them down I noticed there was some damage to a big outer-lug on one of the tires...I was kinda bummed, but with less air I re-ran the hill and it was notably easier... I could tell real quick that due to the narrower footprint and ultra-stiff sidewalls, the pressure needs to be dropped as SOON as you leave the pavemant with these things , especially to avoid lug damage (DUH !!! )

I took them down to 18 or so and they were MUCH better , but now that I`ve heard that I can safely drop them down to sub 10s I will continue to test them in some harder conditions. ;)

All In all .... I cant help but feel as though the weight of my rig is taxing their ability to get the job done in this 34X10.5 size, I`m certain that a larger tire in this line would be a better choice for such a heavy rig... but then fit issues arise. :frown:

After Calico, I will do some more testing

Here is an embarrasing shot with.. yes, WAX on my paint and ArmorAll on my tires ! :o

embarrasing? I think that thing looks beauttttiful. I love the spotlight too. How dark are your side windows? 5%?

Hey, Thanks Loud !

You`ve just earned that E-ticket ride in my 100 next time your in Vegas

I always give it a fresh coat of wax when I put new tires on, too bad it`ll look nice for only a week or two ;)
I`m not sure on the tint %, but generally everyone runs pretty close to "limo" out here.

Peace!
