picked up this 86 a 4runner, 160rounds on the body. New paint(cheap job,but very straight/no rust)
have reciepts for allsorts of work done, rebuilt motor, new bumpers, carpet ect.. this thing was loved. I Have been looking for a little while now, driven as far as 4.5 hrs away to look at an old 4runner And even gave up and bought that damn tercel to wheel. After all of that I find this 5min from my patents house. Purchased from a guy that had put it together for his daughter only for her to decide she really wants a Tacoma.

Looking forward to some sliders/locker before taking it out. Hope you will join me as I actually take on the woodland park area in a few weeks!

Heh, I was thinking the same thing yesterday/ but nahh it's just dumb luck and looking at everydamn 4runner that looks to be in decent shape with cash in hand.
These pics are from my iPhone/will get some new ones with my actual camera later/ woo can't belive the hunts over. Gotta start a mod list!!!

Coils from a 3rd ('96-??) gen. 4Runner fit right in there. The dealerships used to have all kinds when they were doing a replacement campaign on them.

Thanks guys, gotta friend from a jeep group sendin front/rear yj coils.
Looks like you just squeeze it in there in the bumpstop huh/ simple enough. That's my kinda lift ha

I'm very confused, does the 1st gen 4runner not use leaf springs in the rear and torsion bars up front? Yj jeeps do not have coils??? What the heck is going on?

heh, here's the meat and potatos for ya Luke.
Yes, 1g's use leafs.
yj's/tj's use coils.
You get some front coils from a yj/tj and throw them in the rear in between the leaf/bump stop on the top. No real work required it looks like- just slide it in there and you fix you're sag. Because ir fits snug around the rear bumpstop thats it. ...

about a 2.5 inch rear lift to match the front's stance.

Ok, that makes more sense...but YJ jeeps (the square headlight, yuppie jeep) does not use coils. You must have your terminology mixed up. XJ's use coils in the front, and TJ's, LJ's, and ZJ's use coils all the way around. I'm a closet Jeep guy, still wanting my dream rig...the LJ with a long arm kit. Interesting fact, Jeep never used the LJ designation, the aftermarket came up with that, it was officially called a TJ unlimited. :D And four doors don't belong on a Jeep...

Anyway, if you need a set of XJ coils, I think I have a pair. I have to look, but I don't think I threw them out when I lifted my wife's Jeep.

Thanks Luke, actually have some tj springs from a forum friend in the mail/ talked to him last night and sure enough for my luck!!

Just placed an order for a spartan locker/ looking for a good set of sliders for the best protection. I am willing to wheel this thing hard, but sincerly trying to keep the body damage non-existent if I can
.. I know, im rediculous/o well
