So I finally got one! I have been wanting one since high school, had an FJ-60 at one time but had to get rid of it due to commuting trouble. So now that I have some free-time and a little more money, I got a pig. Basics of the pig 1978, disc brakes, PS (not sure if it's stock, any way to tell?) Exterior is 100% rhino-lined (not sure if I love it or not :) ) Little rust showing, but I'm kinda worried to see what's hidden. Strong engine, made the 9 hour drive from Pocatello, ID to Gallup, NM with no problems (developed a small oil leak though ) Got all the hoses and fluids replaced before the trek though. What should I do next? I've looked at all the amazing pigs on this site and am OVER-inspired if that's possible. I want to do everything but am not sure what to start with. Any Suggestions???

Post up pics of the PS and we can tell you if it is stock.

Post up pics of the turn signals as well, those don't look too bad!

Whenever I get a new vehicle, I just start detailing it, taking things apart and looking in every little nook and cranny...

What do you know about the previous owners?

Nice looking 78! Mine was originally the same color scheme. Your power steering is not factory. The Saginaw box on the front frame rail is not Toyota. Would you please show some pictures of your door jambs. I am interested in how they did the paint there if it has not been covered in Rhinoliner.

I like it. It's already rhino lined (not so stock). Might as well keep going!

This has reminded me how badly I want to get mine going. I need to stop messing with the Chevy and finish the PIG! (only another year or two of work at this rate)

Nice indeed. Mine here in Cruces does not look nearly so nice. Have fun with that.

By the way WHAT HE SAYS!!! Settle in take inventory and make a plan.

Thanks everyone. I will take more pics tomorrow, as I am off work and should have a bit more time to mess with it. I was definately thinking less stock and more "upgraded" "classy" stock...if that exists. Not that there is anything wrong with stock, as that's how they all started.

Good Find!!!

BTW if you didn't already know the Saganaw P/S is way better than stock! At least in my opinion:D.
