More progress. Sprayed those other parts. This cheap little HF touch up gun is pretty great. My half-gravel driveway is becoming worse for wear. I'm the reason some of you guys have an HOA.

Approaching the final stretch. Got most of the interior sprayed with the bigger HVLP gun. Suboptimal prep, so finish wasn't great. Probably a 20-footer. Will have to go back when the paint is more cured and do some sanding and respraying. I used up another quart of paint, too, and have to buy more. So the project will have to take a break.

Looks like my $150 paint job will now become a $200 paint job. If my time machine were up and running, I'd take this truck to Earl Scheib circa 1980 when it could be painted for my original investment of $50, and probably have better results.

Fuel stuff in place and connected. Technically, the truck is now drivable. Punch list is getting shorter; need to paint and install the seats hardware, put in the rollbar, attach tail lights and bumpers. That's about it.

I don't know the names of those pewter cover plates in this pic, but do you have any pictures of the lines underneath them? I'd like to see how they are run.

I painted many of my small parts in the same fashion. Looks excellent👍 HOA’s suck balls

Good job!

My colleagues might have thought I was eccentric when the truck was rusty, but I bet they get it now.

Pretty sure every coworker of mine thinks an FJ40 driver is eccentric, no matter how pretty it is. I tell the Wrangler drivers at the office that my truck is 'loaded' - you know, power disk brakes AND power steering. They don't get the primitive thing at all.

Still need a few minor things before it's finished. Like emblems, which are on order. But this unusually dry stretch of weather here makes it a good time to shoot some pics for insurance reasons. (This whole climate change thing is really working out for us here in the PNW. I need to drive this desmogged thing more to get us there faster. :)) These pics also makes for some good before/after shots:

Wow, it's looking great! I'm a little too far away to catch you turning onto 112th these days, and haven't been on mud much lately, but glad to see you dove in and replaced the red duct tape with metal !
