...install tme was around 3hrs maybe....my rear crossmember was somewhat outta line from a hit by a Nissan Titan last year:doh:.

How'd you get finally get it to fit if the crossmember was tweaked? Did you have to pry it on??? That's exactly what I'm afraid of. That when I finally get the bumper in and it doesn't fit because things are tweaked a little.

Darn! What are those 4 holes for?

Pintle hook. That's about the first question in the Newbie Guide in the FAQ. We can tell that you've got some homework on the 80 to do.

I got the new design HQ bumper on! The hidden backside is twice as impressive as the outside.

I got double-swingouts and optional side-protection hoops. Triple can holder for my hot water setup (I will remove when not in use) The tire carrier accomidates up to a 37" spare w/ jerry can holder.

How long was the leed time from ordering the bumper to recieving it?

I got an email from Ken today saying there is a 6-8 week turnaround. My favorite bumper but gotta justify spending the $$$...hmmmm tempting.

Almost here :)

You are gonna love it.............Congrats again.

Can you add one of these to the four holes on that bumper?

It does fit. However the holes on the bottom of the hitch (not the four holes that bolt to the four holes in the crossmember) that bolt up from underneath are not drilled out in the bumper or crossmember. Once drilled out, you'll have 6 grade 8 bolts holding that thing on. It aint going anywhere.

Come on dude - give the guy a break here. Didn't you notice his screen name? He's been asleep since before Ken stopped making bumpers and sliders. You need to cut him some slack! :flipoff2:

I got to admit though.....the fact I saw up close a HQ bumper & subsequently installed with & for the owner, that these are some really well thought out & built bumpers.

In fact, my bumper is the last one he made - and the prior owner (ended up buying the 80/LX450) waited a year for his order to land on his doorstep back in the day.

Sad he quit cause he really made some excellent stuff - in fact that bumper & sliders is the reason I bought the LX - it's the last one on my sig line.

We miss your stuff Ken, maybe see you when the kids go off to college?

Actually Linus,
You probably have the 3rd to last one he made, mine is the 2nd to last, and Ken's personal bumper for his 80 project rig isn't completed yet, but i saw it on the garage floor when i picked mine up a year ago. :D

But yes we want him to get back into fabbing, his stuff is super strong and well engineered! Maybe when his daughter learns how to weld. . . .:grinpimp:
