You might not want to run 5100s and Eibach springs on anything other than the lowest 5100 setting. Your CV joints will be screaming after a couple hundred miles. Not to mention you'll definitely need new UCAs to get a half-way decent alignment. Looks like you got about 5"-6" of lift there.

Yes, from what I have heard, Toytec assembles their 5100 coilovers with 112-620 springs on the 2nd notch up. Here is a really detailed write up about the procedure (which I am sure you are familiar with now) but there are also some pretty meticulous measurements and good pictures of the CV axles: Toytec bilstein 5100 3" lift installed on 2007 4runner - Toyota 120 Platforms Forum.

RyanAllNight, did you install a diff drop kit?

Yeah. I've been bouncing around with a few people on GXOR on how to properly set the 5100s. I guess I just was thinking differently. I come from lifting jeeps and trucks and have never installed a set of adjustable struts. They've always been springs or spacers lol.

Upper control arms are next on the list for sure. The CVs are covered under the warranty I got with the GX so no biggie there.

I remember reading that thread about a week ago but he never stated which perch the springs were installed on and which one he dropped it down to. But I also kind of half ass read and grazed too.

No I did not install the diff drop kit. I was told by a number of people I'll be fine without it. Which of course if I go down two perches my angles will be far better than they are now.

Toytec sells two different Eibach coils; the 112-620, which can be run on the second perch, and the 521600 3" lift coil, which should only be run on the lowest perch.

Ryan, I'd call Toytec and get their input. I'm pretty sure they're going to advise against running the springs on the highest setting, especially if they're the 3" lift coils.

I've also owned a series of Jeeps (CJ, XJ, TJ). Lifting a 4x4 double wishbone independent front end is much different than a solid axle. There are a lot more angles to factor in for alignment purposes and there are limits on height before you cause too much stress on the CV joints.

It's not written out exactly on the post body but if you scroll down to where he has the charts, he has measurements with the springs on the "1st" or "2nd" groove, which I am assuming refers to the bottom and 2nd from bottom perch settings. If that's the case, that means he had a 521600 (3") coil on the 2nd perch as assembled by Toytec.

Good catch! It's strange that they come pre-assembled on the 2nd perch but if you buy them separately Toytec recommends the 1st perch.

I called Toytec and talked to David who is also on GXOR. He gave me the same information that everyone else did. I appreciate everyone's input and information! Here's on the second perch. Looks and drives so much better

Well I guess a little update lately on the ride. I've been pretty busy and sometimes I do things to it and forget to take pics.

The front grill was looking a little rough so I went ahead and sprayed it satin black with satin clear.

Also added the LRD stickers from Blake Heiner on GXOR. And went ahead and got a few GXOR stickers from Kyle Fogle. The LRD stickers are pretty thick. I screwed up the passenger side from a gust of wind during the process :/

I just installed a Kenwood DDX374bt. It's crazy what a good quality head unit will make your factory speakers sound like! What a PITA it was to fit back in the dash with the extra wiring. I had to remove it 3 times to figure out where to place everything. I tried getting all the lines to match up as best as possible but I just couldn't tweek it perfectly. Kind of an eye sore if you really look at it but I don't even pay attention.

I also ordered some Cree G8 LED headlights from car lighting source that I'm waiting to get it. They did not have fog lights so I bought some regular Cree bulbs from eBay for the time being. Will post pictures of those when I receive them. Anyways. Enjoy.

I ordered some G8 LED low beam bulbs after reading a bunch of reviews and looking at pictures. Dan Kunz gave out a discount code so I figured what the hell. These things layout some light! I'm impressed and going to get the high beams now as well. As for the fog lights I just ordered some Ebay ones for now. They weren't expensive at all so I'll see how long they last. They seem to match well.

Hey Ryan,
Thanks for the info.
I like your setup. Im looking to lift my 2006 Gx470 , for 2.5" up in the front. Im thinking of using Bilstein 5100 with Toytec 521600.
My question is, how's the ride ? If i would use the second notch from the bottom, how many inches of life should I get?
Any tips will be appreciated.
Thanks

I'm running the 521600/5100 combo on the bottom perch and the ride is quite nice. Would recommend.
