Keep the '40 grille. I think it's significant too. Since this is the Coastal CRUISERS I don't think doing away with the marque is a good idea (even though John might disagree).

What's wrong with your current logo? It's retro-cool.

sorry dudes, this one's still my favorite:

I agree, with Norm, that was the logo when I first started with the CC, and I always thought that was the coolest logo out there, definately one of the best in the TLCA, but then again, I'm all about old school. You guys should go retro, everyone is doing it now adays:D

That was the idea during the discussions about the new website. As for the old logo, from my view it could use a revision and a bit of clean up, then again if we go back onto the point of view of not having a logo that looks like someone else's - There are 10 logos in the TLCA alone that are circular and have a 40 cruiser in them. Some of them even are the same style of art work like the one we have. That was the motivation behind changing it, doing something unique.
Now what?

You could always stretch it into and oval so the 40 becomes and 81.

Seriously, perhaps an oval will work. I do like the concept of a mountain upper background and a water forground. Also, the "Vancouver Chapter" could be changed. I think most members live outside of Vancouver and some like Charles almost to the Alta border when he's in Canada. How about the Southern BC Chapter. You might pulling in long time Cruiser Heads who live in the Okanogan or up in the Chilcoten, etc.

Southern BC chapter wouldn't work since there's a Vancouver Island chapter as well. Vancouver loosely covers the general lower mainland area so it's somewhat accurate.

I dont mind the old logo or the one we have now that is a cleaned up version of the original. But if we add mountains it will look even more like a well know local business logo, which Steve might not agree with.

Not really sold on the idea of incorporating a cougar, just can't visualize it without it looking cheesy. Or like a bear holding onto a 40 bezel like it's a CC billboard. I dunno, maybe it could look ok, maybe not though.

I thought about just the 40 bezel as an outer border with Coastal Cruisers in the same location as the old stamped bezel said Land Cruiser. Leave the Toyota badge in the grill, maybe add the diesel emblem so most of you guys could identify with it. Add a mountain and ocean reflection into the headlights for interest. Problem is the the proportions of the badge wouldn't show much detail, so probably a no-go.

I don't think there's nothin wrong with the original. If you really want mountians add some in the background.

First, let me say that I'm really sorry bout postin in your forum and chimin in. However, I like looking through the logos and seeing what other groups are doing. In the mud forum it gives you the last posted thread and I saw the word, "logo" so that's how I stumbled in...

That being said, I'll say when I saw the first pic w/ "Coastal Cruisers" and the mountains I thought it was a Northern California group (sorry). So, I honestly mean no disrespect but only give the perspective of the outsider. Keep your old one or do a new one... sometimes change is good. If you want different, cool, but keep who you are in there as well. At least the second one (original) has the maple leaf and where you're from... use the Maple leaf ... it does set you apart.. circle logo or not ;)

Honestly, good luck guys.
We went through a BUNCH! I can post a few of the "early versions" if you'd like .... but good luck all the same.

Hi Scott,
I think it's cool to hear what others have to say. Sometimes I think we get bored at club meetings and decide we need a change. I think our online poll is saying it all. :-)

Thanks, again sorry for pokin my nose in...

If we learned anything... SIMPLE is better. Better looking on shirts, hats, etc etc. etc.. I think the ideas you guys had are both pretty simple.. however I'd never give up the maple leaf guys.

Good luck to you... I'll try to dig up some of our old ones.... way way way too complex.
Would cost a fortune to silk screen!
