Didnt have to reconfigure the hinge and clasp on the can this way, that was the major thing. Also adds a bit of "security" when ppl cant open it when the door is closed... maybe.. Planning to throw random crap in there like straps and some hand tools.

Im interested to see what itll look like with the can protruding from the outer door panel.

Got off to a good start today but then I managed to inadvertently weld the drivers door latch pivot dealies. Spent 2 hrs fixing the damn thing and in the process figured out my door handle/lock set up. Made up some templates for the remaining patch work as well.

Any time man. See if you can get the bigger ammo cans if you do it. Couldnt find them when I went looking for the ones I used.

Ya youve made me decide on half doors. Im not sure about the ammo cans though. Might go a bit different. Did you choose to cut where you did for a reason or was that just what looked good?

I just kind of taped it off above the locking mech/door latch dealie and cut. Messed up the first cut to boot and had to fix it. Searched on here and got some ideas when I first got the doors too.

Lots of chasing holes with the welder and grinding 2x today. I freaking hate body work. Capped the tops of the doors at the window frame with some 3/16 strips bent to shape, welded the gusset plates for the proposed armrest tube, and ground some more. Its as good as its getting and the rest will be prettied up with seam sealer/bondo. I dont want to spend too much more time on them.

Paint done mirrors on. Got some convex 6"ers at the parts place and fabbed up a bracket to mount em. Still have to cut the trim panel to fit, paint it poo brown and throw on the seals. Maybe pretty up the door opener wires...

Threw them on earlier and got the stripe painted. Quick connected the speaker wire and surprisingly the old speakers I got with the doors work. Kinda cool to drive around in.
