New 2F Carb Recommendation - Winner!

Just search landcruiser carb on Amazon and pick your favorite. I’ve run the “Partol” brand and they’ve all needed work but work great when done. I run one on my daily 60 series.

Do you guys have a link to this carb? I looked for Mostplus 2F on Amazon and the link says they are unavailable. I've spent the last two nights taking my carb apart and the Power valve cap just broke. My 18 yr old is working endlessly to get my old 40 going in the next couple weeks. This carb may free me up to get the wiring working until I can get the parts and put mine back together. Jim C. built by carb back in 1998. The poor thing has been torn apart in the garage since 2003 and the carb was varnished worse than anything I've ever seen. My fault.
Carburetor Carb For 1969-1987 Toyota Land Cruiser 2F 4230CC FJ40 2110061012 - https://mostplusauto.com/products/1x-carburetor-carb-for-1969-1987-toyota-land-cruiser-2f-4230cc-fj40-2110061012

I Just bought it off the website. I have had no problems. Its pretty accurate as in the notes discription it says its a tractor carb haha. But @Skreddy is right they are all the same and most likely come from the same factory in china.

I purchased the Patrol Carb. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0787YHKQ7?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1

I saw mention in this thread that there was no return line for the Carb to go to the fuel pump. On the patrol, it has the boss but is not drilled and tapped. What is the best way to move forward? Install the pressure line and plug the return line on the Pump? Is there something other than drilling and tapping the port on the Patrol Carb and then hook everything up as normal? My plan is to rebuild my Jim C. 20+ yr old carb but the Power Valve c-clip broke (toyota 21304-30010) and I need the old girl running ASAP.

I ran one for two years without a hiccup when my Rochester gave up the ghost. I was in a tight spot too. It’s still on my shelf marking time.

Didn’t read every post, but I guess I will be that guy.

I might go with the cheap option vs cityracer. I aint rich.

That said, the older I get, and the smaller the pool of good vendors has become, the more I am happy to support them.

Recently bought the FJ40dash.com dash. Too many times I have tried to find a cheaper alternative, and in the meantime the dedicated little guy says “to hell with it, I only sold 3 last year” and closes shop.

No connection to cityracer, but I am glad him and a few other cruiser nerds are there for us.

Probably because there are fewer and fewer fj40s around. City racer has been super valuable as well as Cruiser Teq and SOR.

I've never had good luck on Amazon. Weird Chinese knock-offs, NO customer service, and that "good deal" on filters or soft items is cuz they are 20 yrs old. Someone buys a garbage heap and then resells it. NO THANKS!

I have had much better luck with people on ebay accurately describing/depicting what they have to sell. Amoron is group think and their reviews are skewed and sometimes outright fraud.

Did you get the carb working? I just ordered one, and I'd like to know what to expect.
The carb seems to be working well. I still need to figure out how to hook up the cable driven choke. I pull the top off and flattened the mating surface. I threw a new gasket on it as the old one had been pinched at the factory. Everything else seems to be working

Thats a good point. They were pretty common in the 80’s when I started driving (a 40 was my first car). Now I get excited when I see another one on the road.

Doesn’t change my thinking any, I am grateful for the handful of good vendors we have and want them to stay around. 16 year old me with no money and a ratty 40 as a daily driver was less purist about what it took to keep it running.

What gasket / rebuild kit did you use? I'd love to take mine apart before trying it out in actual service.
