I'm looking for some tire chains that will fit 295/75R16 tires. Prefer a set of 4 but would consider a set of 2 as well. Quality brand like SCC, etc.

I have a set of chains that will fit 315/75R16 that I could trade.

Thanks!

Seems like the chains you already have should work. Chains are made with some flexibility in size range of an inch or two plus or minus. You may need to get out the grinder and cut a couple links off. I had chains for my 37 MTR's on my XJ and cut them down to fit my 315's. I also had chains for the 31's on my WJ and they fit (barely) when I went to the 33's on the WJ. The size chart on the bag is rather irrelevant. Just get them on their and make them super tight and then just cut off the excess links.

Just jack up one wheel, put on your chains, and fit them. If regular ladder chains, you can cut down the length as required, and if they are the fancy diamond type, use quick links (http://www.apexhandtools.com/brands/CF_Files/model_detail.cfm?upc=020418201653 ) to shorten the outer perimeter chain. Space them evenly, and just use them to pull two, or maybe three links into the space of one. Easy, fast custom sizing, and easily reversible.

OK, thanks guys! I'll give that a try this weekend. I should practice fitting the chains anyway. Living in so cal I have never needed to use chains but plan to head up to the mountains this winter so I may need them.

I have the SCC Quik Grip chains for all 4 tires with tensioners so it would be great if I could use them. Save $$ as well.

I mounted up one of the chains on the spare today. Looks like they will work using the tensioner. I would have liked one more link of adjustability however just to make everything a little tighter. Need to get a few of those quick links to keep the extra adjustment links from hanging loose.

Do these look ok?

Looks good. It's always handy having a handful of those quick links on board, adjustments or repairs. Another thing is getting another set (one /wheel) of elastic tensioners and double them up on each wheel. I do that with the diamondbacks I use on both my 60 series and my Touareg. Here's a shot of the Touareg set up, only one tensioner, but they are attached where I used quick links to reduce the size of the outer circumferential chain. The second tensioner hooks up on the alternate chain runs. It runs much tighter, and if for some reason you break a tensioner, you're still covered.
