I might be able to help out. I believe i purchased that cable used awhile back when i had a fire under the hood of my 91. I never ended up using it....the problem would be finding it at this point but i will hit you up later when i get home and look for it.

Beno has a 70 as well.

JWilber - PM sent! Fingers crossed!

Anyways, to get this thread back on track - is the throttle cable for the FJ80 the same as the FJ62's?

I guess we're going to have to start rigging things up now huh?

Not the same.

On a 3FE, does it matter, when the throttle is depressed, other than increased noise, is there really any noticeable difference?:hillbilly: My guess, with slight mods, another cable from a same era Toyota could be made to work? On Rootbeer (2FE in a '78 FJ40) we used a cable off of a 1988 Camry, didn't take much effort to fit, works great.

Its a shorty… roughly 27" long measuring the outer portion of the cable as it goes from the throttle body to the black box on the passenger side of the engine compartment.

Not the same.

I'm going to go ahead and guess and that the 62 version is shorter? I'm sure it could work in the 80, it has a very long sweep with room to stretch.

No cruise in the 62. The 80 cables go into and out of the cruise actuator.

So there are two different cables for the 80 then? One for those with fancy cruise control and one for those of us with poverty packs?

@cruiserdan can you clarify for me? Are there two diff cables for the 3FE 80s then; one with cruise, one without?

Correct, two listings. That being said I don't think a single FJ80 made it over here without cruise......

I ordered mine without cruise. I believe it was a $285 option. Also without running boards, moonroof, and roof rack. :)

Yours would then be the first example I have heard of without cruise.
