I just got myself an FJ45 pick up and will start the restoration soon. While browsing this site, I came across this beautiful WHITE truck and interested to make mine like that.

It'd be nice if anyone here can lead me to the owner. I like everything about this truck.

What's the color? Tire size? Lifted? Any special mod? More pix of both interior and exterior would be much appreciated....... Chavalin <THAILAND> ;)

Looks nice but the chrome upside down bezel?

Thanks Dallas... I know I know.. I was once against the upside down bezel too. Some how, this style got my attention. We'll see. If it doesn't look right on my truck, it can be flipped easily anyway.

I really like that extra cab tow truck! I say buy that too:D Why does it have a map of Australia on the driver's door?

Cheers,

Josh

Hi Josh... That extra cab truck is a full time tow truck owned by a local FJ Guru. It has FJ60 axles with 15B Diesel engine. It is equiped w/ 10,000lbs winch under the bed and PTO winch in the front.

About the map, this truck (and mine) was given to the Thai government from Australia, under "Columbo Project". The project commenced after WWII. England, Canada, Australia and NZ were set out to assist those countries in need for development. Thailand was on the list.

FJ45s were sent to our gvmnt during mid-late 70s. Some were sent out to highway department, some to forestry, etc. My truck has spent a rough 20 something years in the undeveloped part of Thailand to construct the roads and highways. Just to give u an idea, the truck was used by the crew that follow 2 Bulldozers into the forest. It probably didn't see much paved road. After inspecting the chassis and suspension, it needs a good cleaning and sanding. :hillbilly:

I've taken some photos, will post them up real soon. :bounce:

Here comes R-U-S-T-Y 45...

It is now in a secured location away from my gf. She'd be freaked out to see a bucket of rust. Better not let her see it until it's half way done. :meh:

Rust is everywhere, esp on the bed and cab. Chassis is ok, no major damage. Just some rust on the surface. Engine and driveline are history. I already have my eyes on 1UZ engine (4 liter w/ 260 hp), 5 speed trans from Land Cruiser Prado and axles from FJ70.

Welcome to the forum Chavalin :flipoff2:(don't be offended, I'm supposed to do that - it's the official new member salute)

I'm not able to help you with your quest to find the owner of that truck but I have a question of my own about your new toy. If you have the chance I would love a couple of photos of the rack/ canopy on the bed. I have been planning a canvas topper for my 45 rebuild but I am more of a metal worker than a seamstress and could copy your rack easily. Mabye add rollup canvas sides to it.

Very good idea to hide it from the GF for now :D

About the rack, I can pose some pix up. The problem is I cannot post anymore than 200K. Pls HELP. How can I put more pix up? :bang:

Or I can just email the pix t you direct.

The best way to be able to post more pictures is to buy a silver star to support the fourm. Here is a link that tells you what you get for your money - silver star

basically you can post all the pics you want, you get less or no advertising, avatars and a bigger mail box. Not bad for $20.00 per year. Plus you help keep this awesome site going.

If you don't want a star you can e-mail me through my user name - just left click on anyones name and you should get the option to e-mail as long as they have thier user profile set for it. But you can't add attachments so my e-mail is ksteinhauer @ telus.net

He also has a sweet Land Rover 109 in Phuket which rolls on Prado axles with an isuzu turbo diesel drive train.

Cheers,

I am really digging those Yokohama tires. Anyone know more or less what size they are?

Josh... I'm in Bangkok, about 500 miles away from Phuket. However, I do get to travel to Phuket quite a bit as I'm in resort business. You probably have heard of 'Club Med'? I'm in charge of sales & marketing for Thai market. Nice to know there are more Cruiser fans around here.:cheers:

It'd be cool to speak to him when I'm in Phuket next.
