Need a portable compressor and Impact

reccomendation for wrenching on my truck....I'm tired of turning the ratchet looking for a decent brand nothing expensive just something good enough for a shade tree mechanic...thanks

This may sound stupid but, I picked up an air set from one of the travelling tool shows, homier I believe, and they have worked pretty damned good. Some bolts I have to break by hand but after that it's all air... I am using a 2.5 gallon pancake compressor from the same place. I've had this setup for over 10 years now with no problems.

cordless impact. I have a 60 gallon compressor in my shop and air impact and ratchets...I end up using the snap on impact more often than not.

holy cow I should have bought the snap on cordless in mud bay oh well I will look into cordless as well....any thoughts on other brands of cordless impacts?

nsptr the pancake compressor is that about the size of one used for trim finish carpentry?...I dont mind breaking bolts manually and finishing them off with an air gun.

DeWalt corded impact works well and is relatively cheap. I've seen them on craigslist a bunch of times.

Yes, I dont have alot of room in my garage with the 40 and the wife's Yukon and the compressor sits just under the rear end of the 40. I have to move it to take the 40 out. This combo is not the greatest but it works for me. My buddy has a snap- on impact and it works great. I'd recommend that one if your going cordless

I still use my air tools, but my old IR 1/2" gun is starting to get tired, I'll be replacing it with a Makita 18V cordless 1/2" impact, since I already have a bunch of other LXT 18V LiIon cordless tools. I use the hell out of my smaller impact driver, very handy for smaller fasteners (14mm and under).

I carry a Dewalt 18v cordless impact when traveling (and particularly when pulling a trailer given my luck with trailer tires) just to be able to quicky change a tire when stuck on side of the road.

Ingersoll rand , cheap , reliable and powerful . especially the titanium series .

i use snap-on guns , but only because i got them for cheap . Ingersoll rand is a better deal .

if money is tight, I have a dewalt cordless impact that I'd be willing to pass along...I bought it before I got my cordless impact....$85 shipped to your door.

or keep an eye on something like this:

don't rule out the electric ones...you just need to have an extension cord.
