Hey guys,

My nephew hydrolocked his 22RE. Let's say he has learned his lesson. Looking for good running used 22RE. anyone no of anyone who has one or a place near by that rebuilds them.

Thanks

Tony

Why replace the whole engine? If you hydrolocked it, the worst you did is bent a valve or two. take the head off and take it to Rocky Mountain machine. He'll charge about 100-135 to do a full head job, put it back together and go. Did you pull the plugs and turn over the engine to remove the water? or oil? I bet there's nothing wrong with it.

nah, pull the plugs, blow out whatever was in the cylinders, put some Marvel Mystery oil in the spark plug holes, let it sit for an hour, blow that out, do a compression test.

My brother hydrod his 22re several years ago. Pulled all the plugs, changed oil, etc, got it fired up, ran fine for a short time, and then threw the number 4 rod out the side of the block. Never did 100% verify, but always figured it bent a rod. FWIW.

it was knocking pretty loud. would go away at higher rpms. I already pulled the plugs for him and fired it around. changed the oil. still knocking pretty bad. he said it's getting worse. pulled in his driveway at coolant went everywhere. He has not looked to see where it was coming from yet. I have not seen it yet since that has happened.
