So I was working on my tailgate in outside and when I was done I found this little thing in the street. Obviously it could be from anything but I thought I would throw it out there to see if anyone recognizes it. It is about an inch long.

Funny, I was thinking it looks more like a gun part than a Pig part...
Pretty sure it's not from a tailgate.

Yeah it has a black anodized finish which seems like it would be made later than my rig but I just thought I would check.

Next Installment

Hopefully Napster won't mind me glomming on to his thread here, but I have the same question. This part is left over from my recent transmission/transfer/overdrive - removal/reinstallation. Any help identifying this piece would be appreciated.

Looks like the tab that holds the shafts on back of t case. Bolts in place and hooks into a slot on shaft

I concur with Nuclearlemon, tranfer case shaft lock. ( Ider Gear Shaft Lock Plate ) as per manual.

If is that, better get under there right away.

I thought you two had it nailed for sure. But, my idler gear shaft lock plate is still in place. This one also looks just a bit larger than the idler gear one. Any secondary WAG's out there?

there are two shafts with those plates. do both have their plates?

Got it! Many thanks to Ms. Lemon and Mr. Daddy...you got me looking in the right places. And for the first time ever, no left over pieces. Not saying they're in the right places, just saying I used them all ;)
