I just had to sand blast the casing of the winch.

Ouch. Looks like some water got in and did what it did. I got water in my winch too and wonder where it came from.. everything should be tight and sealed, except the output shaft seal. Condensation?

After the cleanup, it was evident that the oil seal had a dent and probably caused the leak. There were two shims in the front retainer and another two on the rear seal retainer. This is to adjust the compression for both worm gear bearings and set the play.

I think the water came through the the main shaft seal and probably though the worm gear seal.
 
I don't need any parts. Was only curious if you'd be able to get them. Awesome work :D
