thought id share with all you guys in the 80's section of the board. I have been working on this project for awhile and its finally coming together. I was using up all my switch blanks on my dash for lighting and it seems I had switches everywhere and also my OBA gauge and switch was mounted on the bottom edge of the dash. I wanted them all together and organized.

I came up with this idea and mocked it up out of cardboard and found a guy locally that could make this for me. It houses my OBA air gauge, a switch to turn it on, plus a switch for my 4" HID's, 7" HID's, rock lights, rear light(future),and a roof rack light(future). Then on the end is a dual USB charger.

I cut it out with a dremel, and found a member in my club that had a can of interior matching paint, and painted it up. Alls left is to get it in the truck.

I got the ARB Carling switches and covers from Sierra Expeditions, and the air gauge is Viair, and the dual USB is made by Blue Sea and got that on Amazon.

My plan to run the wire in and out is to cut a hole in the bottom of the covered up 12 oz can cup holder. That way if for any reason I need to turn it back to stock I can use a plug.

I am using the 2 stock mounting screws for the shift console, and then I drilled a additional hole on each side to better secure it.

The guy that made it for is willing to make more, but Im pretty sure you would have to send him your shift console to get the proper fit. By the looks of it, it wasnt an easy task. If you'll notice, the OEM switch controls are at an angle over the console, so he had to take that in consideration to make it at an angle, yet straight across the shift console.

Any chance I'd be able to get one of these made from your design?

Damn man that looks super high speed. Any interfering with the low shifter?

Sent from my busted to s*** EVO4G

does not interfere with anything. I think it looks awesome myself. The guys name is Skip Nippress, he lives in Tempe AZ. Email is skipstertempe@yahoo.com. He welcomes the work and I told him I was posting the pictures on 'mud and that he might have other people interested.

Im pretty sure that you would be required to send him your shift console to get the exact fit, but thats not a big deal, he's a great guy to work with. Just tell him you want one like Shannon Burchardi's(azrider) and im sure he could take care of ya.

i want one. i sent him an email.

That turned out really nice!

This is awesome ! I have been wanting to do something like this for the longest time.

I am glad you figured it out !!. I am sending an email to Skip !

AZRider, would you post a pic with the whole shebang installed in the truck? I'm working with Skip now to build one up for me but I'm trying to picture top clearance to the dashboard.

oops...there goes the "cup holder"

kidding, nice job!
