My new bumper

mfred2000,

Let me answer your questions.

The bumpers come standard unfinished. We have found that while some people never use their bumpers and love the durability of powder coating, there is that group that will bang and scratch their bumpers and as such, powder coating can be difficult to touch up. For hard trail use we have seen more of a trend to rattle can the bumpers simply for the ease of touching it up after a rock rashing. Powder coating is available for $150 as well as a professional spray on liner for the same price.

Currently the pricing is the same for the LC bumper as the Ford stuff. So $825 list

Te bumper on ardents rig was built as a prototype but still to some of his personal specifications (narrow width) The actual production bumpers will be wider than what was shown on his to accommodate the fender flares. So, Yes, they will be wider. The bottom of the bumper sits flush with bottom of the frame.

We can build anything and I would be happy to add fog light adaptation to a bumper on an individual basis.

The best part: On the basic bumper we will do an early production run and the first 5 orders from ih8mud will get a discount. Basic bumper, unfinished, $850 to your door. All additional options will add to the cost but the basic cost and shipping will remain the same.:grinpimp: Please email your orders to: sales@heftyfabworks.com and include your name, ih8mud username, and shipping info. Once we receive your order we will process it and get back to you with the total and payment options.

Oh, and lastly, where do I sign up to be a vendor here. I feel so crooked not going through the proper channels but can't find it.

I wheel the snot out of that bronco by the way!!!! I own 4 of them:lol:

Thanks Chris. That's an awesome deal! I think if you PM user Woody, he'll be able to tell you how to sign up as a vendor. I think he's the site creator.

Oh, and yeah he wheels.

But so far I haven't had any trouble keeping up with him. And I haven't even wheeled the LC with him yet!

Nice rig Nate! Nice front bumper too. If you're playing with those rocks, I think you need a pair of sliders:grinpimp:. OBTW, did you get your switches yet?

Thanks! We're working on the sliders now. They should be on by the end of the week (Planning on a wheelin' trip Sat...)

I did get the switches and they look great! Now I just need to figure out what wires do what... :) Thanks again!

looks good. I like more headlight protection. I wonder if there is a way to integrate that? Probably difficult to do it w/ the modular design, unless the top bar is bolted to the wings

Ok, I finally got some action shots. A few things you might notice are: Removed the flares (bumpers lines up better now). Rock Sliders!!! These are Hefty Fabworks prototype sliders and they performed flawlessly. I have no lift and I'm running stock tires, so needless to say, I used them a lot! I also had them make some simple bumperettes for the rear. These will probably be removed and reworked, but they did their job.
The line up. I'm running stock sized (265s?) tires which were the smallest in the group by about 4".

Overall, I am extremely happy with this bumper. I was expecting to be hitting it all the time, but was pleasantly surprised that I hit it very few times. (2nd to last pic shows one of the only times I hit the bumper upon approach) I even had a *slight* run-in with a tree on the passenger side wing and it did nothing to the bumper but scratch the paint. That's saying something on the weakest part of this bumper. I've seen ARB models bend under less force than the tree applied...

The sliders were also amazing. I used them almost constantly (read: no lift:doh:) and the kick-outs were the perfect pivot point for maneuvering around several boulders on this trail. I banged and bashed these things and they didn't bend at all! You'll notice that they are not painted. This was because we mounted them on Friday night to go wheelin' Sat. and I didn't feel like painting them twice. Here in CO I could run them for a couple weeks like this before they'd show much more than a couple spots of surface rust, but they'll be painted shortly.

As you can see from the pics, the trail had portions covered in snow/ice/mud which made for a slippery time, but it was a blast! Hope you enjoyed the pics! :steer::hillbilly:

Painted Sliders!

Got the passenger side slider painted and mounted back up. Sorry my truck is so dirty!

Cat protection will be incorporated soon. I'll get some pics up soon with it outside... Hope you like 'em!

I take it this bumper never made it to production as it's not in the site 4-5 years later. Nice looking bumper though, I like the low hoop. Shot them an email anyway to see what ever happened with it.

80s are getting cheaper... They are less of a soccer mombile... People like me are starting to find how well they wheel. So what I'm saying is the market is getting better. Now might be a better market for fenders for the 80 series. It would be a good time to test the market again.
