Very nice! I was looking at your slide out and I built the same exact thing. I was wondering what size sliders you used. They look a lot smaller than the ones I ended up with. Mine are full extension 40 " . They are 3 inches tall and 3/4" thick. They are rated @ 500 lbs. I inset a second pair and now my kitchen counter slides out 80".....bomber!:grinpimp: The slide out is the way to go! Its a shame you have to make it smaller because of the tires. I too would like to revisit the spring over I have done at some point. Keep the pics coming!

AWWWW SNAP!

That looks freakin' amazing! Can't wait to see that come together then copy it! ;)

I am going to burn mine and start over copying you...that loooks Awesome!

your kitchen is perfect, a thought or ten further then i went .

Could a standard tongue box be retrofitted, or would the lid be to short, for the added distance?

yes thats the same one, sorry i didnt get back to you sooner just havent been able to get out to the garage lately. its a decent box the aluminum is pretty thin so ill likely use a board at the bottom since ill be putting 2 large batteries in it with no floor support, other then that its a great size.

I thought about modding a non slant box but the more i toyed with it in my head it just want worth it.

Hey lx45landcruiser: Very nice!! :). I had a question about your choice of using the formed sheet instead of going with a tube frame and thinner walls. How do you think the two options compare weight wise, and strength wise? Thanks for the cool write up. :)

The sheet is the way to go, theres no doubt in my mind. i actually built a whole tube frame setup and want happy with it. I wasnt getting tight enough bends so i was loosing valuable space. The sheet was quick and effective and much cleaner finish, not to mention cleaning it up at camp will be a breeze. Its 1/8 inch aluminum and with the bends id say its just as strong as the tube frame setup

Very nice work, have been thinking or the same drawer for my trailer and then you go and do it, nice use of space.
I have a 1/8 sheet of alum checkerplate ready to bend for mine and intend to do it soon, no frame needed you say, that's what I was hoping.
Keep the pics coming:beer:

Hmmm. Thats cool. I don't have access to aluminum welding gear. I'll have to research what the weight of doing it with steel would be. Probably too heavy. :(.

Got some more work done today on the kitchen. I also added another drawer slider on the fist one so its rated around 750lbs total

That's pretty slick. Are you going to have a divider internally so as to not have crap falling in the way when you have the kitchen extended?
