Quick update injectors came back. Glad i sent them out. This should be part of the baselining of any rig.

I had a OEM 2.0KW stored that I was going to rebuild. The 40th anniv came with some bosch brand starter, so I rebuilt the OEM starter. Great FAQ on mud for this, wouldnt have done it without MUD. Good thing I decided to rebuild it. Here are the pictures before and after.

I also didnt know the condition of the PS pump. I had purchased a PS pump rebuild kit from Sam Stewart so I went ahead and dived right in after my Starter rebuild. I used the FAQ to do this, and it was dead on, MUD once again made this so easy!!

Today was a very productive day.. I also took out the old engine and tranny from the 40th anniv. Doing this with 4in springs made it a little difficult to get the engine out. Had to let air out of the tires to get the rest of the tranny and transfer case out.

Nice man. Ballsy taking on that project under short time constraints. Kudos, and will definitely be following the build.

Thank you!! Cant wait to get the rig back on the road!! Really havent driven at all since I picked her up.. So cant wait to get it running.

Today's update..

So my main harness had the same issue as all where the heat wrap starts to disintegrate. So I went to the local auto parts store to see what they had for heat wrap. I found this pretty cool wrapping tape that is designed to withstand up 500* of heat.

I had purchased from phhkit.com the PHH bypass hose a while back when I first got my LX. I decided to go this route rather than using the metal pipe in between. I never ended up needing it so I installed it on this engine. Another less thing to worry about.

My headers didnt look so nice, so I went ahead and used the high temp left over and gave the headers and covers a retouch. Dresses up the engine just fine!!

While taking out the engine, I had to take apart the center console and remove the transfer case lever. Man talk about nasty, dog hairs and gunk and $0.41 cents.. Made some money today!!

Todays update includes a number of things. While I am waiting for new connectors to come in from Toyota, so I can finish my engine rebuild. But in the meantime. Some minor updates.

I bought a new tranny strainer, I wanted to baseline the rig completely and not leave anything to chance. Having the tranny out of the truck makes working on it really easy. So I dove in a removed the tranny oil pan and replaced the strainer.. Old one looked good but I replaced it anyways.

Started rebuilding my front axle.. Used a OEM rebuild kit I got from AKELLA here on mud.. Today I rebuilt my PS. With all new bearings and seals. I had purchased the Marlin Crawler Eco Seals so I used these instead. I also put in some new cross drilled rotors with new pads and new OEM calipers. Tomorrow I will continue with the DS.

that marlin seal is going to leak unless you have part time hubs. I would turn around and replace those asap.

Thanks for the heads up.. Gonna look into it. i got these b.c they had great reviews. I had already 2 OEM seals go out on me, i wanted something that would work.
