I don't know about a plethora, Mike... It's the same 44 on the outside... Just paint on the engine and new exhaust.
I cleaned up the firewall. Wasn't able to do much more, in the way of cleanup, due to my physical limitations.

No lift... It's hard to get decent exhaust pics... Here's the v-bands, from the headers to the collector... And the final bend out behind the rear passenger tire (same route as before). I have a heat shield between the the exhaust pipe and the BOSS air bag and another between the pipe and the aux tank.

I expect to have to snug the oil pan bolts after I drive it a bit and the only break-in instructions are, "drive it gently (max 3000 rpm) for 500 miles then change the oil and filter".
sweet!!! great pics ... glad you got your truck back, and got your money's worth ... that isn't a foregone conclusion these days, unfortunately ... hope you get to enjoy it soon ...

Thanks Winnie!! She's great!!
Except, I discovered a very slow leak, dripping on top of the front axle, driver's side of the diff. It's coolant, but I can't, for the life of me, see where it's coming from... But, I'm sure it's leaking around the water pump...
That brings back memories... Not long after I bought 44, I chased the same leak and eventually found (with a flashlight and a little telescoping mirror) that the water pump was leaking because of a broken water pump bolt. In that case, I had to drain the NEW coolant, remove the bib, remove the NEW radiator, remove the fan, remove the water pump and weld a nut onto the broken bolt. I put a new water pump on and put it all back together... Lotta work for a simple drip...
But, this time, it's under warrantyI'm gonna drop 44 back at the engine installers' shop on the way to a Dr appt Thursday morning. Hopefully I'll have it back fairly quickly, but I can wait a bit... I have to finish the farm fable I'm building for our dining room. Dianna won't let me leave until it's ready for her to paint...
Weather is cooling into the 90s... And my back, hip and leg are almost entirely pain free!!My right arm us as good as it's gonna get... Doesn't stop me from fishing... Just can't do push-ups or pull-ups any more, but who cares!!
So, me'n'daBoise may be able to take a 44 camping trip soon... We can be camping at above 6500' in just over an hour or above 8000' in just under three hours. So, as long as it's cool enough to drive 44, it's easy to get out and have fun!
I don't recall... Did I share this pic of me'n'daBoise already?

Our younger daughter is a Court Reporter in Austin, TX... She had to have carpal tunnel surgery on both hands this morning. She couldn't feel her fingers during jury trials. We may take a run to Austin... But, since she is already doing so well, we may not go for a while... She will be off for 8 weeks, before she's back up to speed (240+ words per minute).
Also, Dianna really wants to make a trailer trip to a nice cool, spot... So, we will probably run up to Navajo Lake, UT for a few days too. I'd love to see if I can row/kick my inflatable pontoon and Gunner loves to ride on the back while I fly fish.
I've digressed
Anyway, I've got a lotta plans... Some with 44 ... Some with my Tundra and Casita trailer...all with my camera...
Hey Peter (@Bambi Girl ) and Tom (@lostmarbles ) and any other Len Beadell fans...
I'm reading Blast the Bush right now and I'm curious... is Len the only person to accomplish anything, in Central OZ, in the 50s?!?
He is continually tasked with all the hard jobs and, with only a handful of helpers, some equipment, a couple of Land Rovers and his knowledge of star navigation, he almost singlehandedly built all the roads, found the perfect atomic test site and helped create the first accurate maps.
His books are extremely entertaining, his humor keeps me in stitches (sometimes delayed by my use of Google to find out just what he said)
Y'all were spot on!!! His books are great!!
Strewth! What a dog's breakfast when he had to drive that Rover through a flood, to rescue a sick child! Nothing ever goes into the too hard basket! No matter the strife, or the Rover on the blink, he never seems to need a stubby, never gets on the piss, never mentions the cheese and kisses... Was she an old battleaxe, or what?
He just pushes back his hat, takes a squiz (sometimes as long as a wet weekend), then takes a pew and eats a bellyful of bully and tomato sauce and drinks a billy of tea.
He draws his water from a gnamma or billabong, knocks the dirt out of his thong, I mean hobs and gets back into his Rover and presses on, much like a cow cocky headed for beer o clock!!
...and what about the dunny? Didn't they need a thunder box now and again, in those days?!?
I can't tell whether or not Lenny is a mollydooker, but, given all he accomplished, using a Land Rover, I can't help but think what a bees dick, compared to what he could have done had a Land Cruiser been available to him in those days!!!
Thanks for turning me on to these great adventures!!
Hi Danny...
Ha ha. You're getting on well with our down-under lingo.I bet you'd have a ball exploring lonely places in this neck of the woods (where you tend to meet lots of real laid-back easy-going characters).
There's always been a certain amount of rivalry between Australia and NZ so I'll leave it to an Australian to comment on Len Beadell/Australian-folklore.
I'm just trying to think of the NZ-equivalent of Len.
A guy by the name of Barry Crump comes to mind. He was an ex-deer-culler/possum-trapper and Land Rover driver (again -only because there were no Land Cruisers back then I'm sure). And he wrote books that have a similar appeal to Len's by being down-to-earth and showing a kiwi lifestyle that was popular amongst a few but foreign to the majority of city-folk. But I can't say he achieved much in the way of road-building (or in anything else other than writing books and creating an image of himself that produced a significant following and earned him $$$$).
Barry later ended up appearing in Toyota advertising, such was his popularity (and his perceived connection with "no-nonsense" and "the rugged outdoors")...

I know it's not Toyota tech, but do you have any pics of the farm table? The old wood butcher in me just has to see what you have. I hope you have it done very soon so you can start your planned trips. Don

Blast the bush that is an AWESOME title... lol
It's nothing special, Don... Here's a picture of it 'mocked up'... So, Dianna can determine just how high she wants this table to stand. I think we're gonna drop it about 4 inches. All I have to do is drop the legs, cut the top of the legs and remount them. Dianna wanted this table higher than normal, but didn't know how high. Also, it had to be long (81") and somewhat narrow (31") to fit the space... In place of that little round table and black chairs we bought at a garage sale when we moved to Vegas. BTW I bought the legs, I sold a lotta wood working tools when we left Texas.
The thing hanging on the wall is a charging station, top hinges up... To charge phones, kindles, iPads, laptops, etc. outta sight. Dianna's gonna paint it when she paints the table.
