I would think any heater located over the passenger’s feet wouldn’t be stock.

SOR shows this as a stock heater for a 1963-1967 40 & 45 Series

That's the later OEM heater for the 66+ (or whatever month they started) with the luvered (fresh air )vent above the kick vent. I've got that style in my 66.

Everything before that is dealer installed. Mine is a dealer installed ( i have the orig reciept) unit that was fairly popular as I've seen them in different 40's I think the other popular unit is the black one that I've seen in 40's and 45's.

I can't say i've seen yours before stratton but that doesn't mean much :)

Completely stock is no heater :) or the ultra rare round thing :)

DAMNIT.. it seems like I always overlook something  You'd think as much as I come over to the 25 section I'd remember something like that ;(

Anyway, Good thing nobody listens to what I say :D

You have an awsome find there. And the fact that its your great grandpa's is sweet. Keep up with th epics. GOt any mor eof those classic interior pics!!! Its looks like fun!

If your family owns the other two trucks in the field picture, you should check them for SM 420 transmissions. They look to be the right vintage. Heck you might have two. You could try to trade one for an adapter, or maybe sell parts off of those things to finance your FJ40. Any 60's-70's GM cars lying around that place? You are going to want power steering too once you get more comfortable working on stuff.

Looks like you still need a left front turn signal.;p

Very glad to see you're taking some time to bring it back right. ;)

It'll grow on you even more once you start driving it .

Humor me and buy a rollbar somewhere. Like to see you keep posting for a long time to come.:)

I have a decent roll bar you can have since you are a fellow Yaki-Maniac (Yakima Washington for you non maniacs). Not sure when I'm headed that way, but you can have it.

Not the greatest roll bar but it is a start.
