The AC adapter is a canister to spin-on oil filter adapter. I'm not the greatest expert on these but they are usually seen on 283's and 265's, especially where the crank is not drilled for a balancer bolt. They don't usually leak but there is a big o-ring between the block and the adapter as well as a round rubber seal, likely where your leak is coming from.Got lazy and didn't work on the steering box mount yet. So, tonight I reinstalled the working head light switch, column covers, and steering wheel. Then drained the oil and removed the filter.
I had replaced the filter before I started the motor, but not the oil. So now, after some minor run time, I will replace both.
I noticed this filter adapter. It's an AC.....like AC Delco I would imagine. Is this an early sbc thing? It might be the source of one of the leaks.
