Also its common that they came with a fresh air vent that open behind the hood? it does have a pull cable knob.
That vent started with the 66 model and worked until the end of the 73 model. Then for a few years after that it was just welded close since the heater starting in 74 had a vent for fresh air on the top. I'm sure it was still a vent later in market where a heater wasn't standard like the US.

That would make sense that the red knob under the dash worked a add-on hazard flasher. Starting with the 68 model the hazard flashers were required in the US. That red knob switch look like what came in my 68.

that is super sweet! love the ladder! it looks like it was factory installed, in your pics, with the extra support design inside, and what looks like countours for the lower rungs. I would definitely keep it!

thanks,Raff..for the moment its in good shape and color that plate,so i will keep it. I found 5 oem rims with hub caps ,i will keep that one in factory conditions, later paint in the oem green color..like this one...:D

well, its have the split hood and thats the chrome trim..dont know until which year they stop the split hood, but the dash its also from the 68..it could be a special order.... if we think that the factory in that time will have all parts to do custom orders.

off topic, does anyone have a color for the bumper, mirrors and hood locks? that i can check on ACE or other hardware store?

The cowl vent in front of the windshield was standard here in the US for a number of years. It's functionality was removed in later years. On my 1971 it is operated with a metal rod arrangement, not a cable.

I wonder if that "power port" was OEM? I no longer have the EPC installed to look...

Hood locks on mine were body color. Bumper and mirrors are a pewter color. Search and you will find many opinions on the correct colors. CCOT sells a close match in spray cans.

The front drive knob and lever look like the early style as well, my '63 has those while my '69 had a different knob that matched the later style and the lever had a ball on the end. The 3 speed column shift ended here mid '69 I thought. This rigs interesting, I like it.

Coolerman....thanks..now what its this that you refer>>I wonder if that "power port" was OEM? I no longer have the EPC installed to look..<< the 12 volt conecction at the dasH?

Garage..thanks

i check inside the glove compartment looking for the other 12 v dc connector ,the one like normally came inside some fj40 and the fj60, i dont see anything inside like if was take it out...i guess its could be factory because that socket in the dash look like the old school radio amateur type input on some older ham radio.

Later i can post color code for that because its not just red and black wires to the main harness.
Thanks Coolerman

Haven't seen that before, my guess would be early rear fog light given how it doesn't look like your average PO mod. Any idea what triggers that light?

I believe the split hood ended in '69 in the US.

Convert it to a left hand drive and save yourself the trouble of running on the wrong side of the road. :D lol

Looks great man enjoy

Could you clean those wires up and give us the color code for each wire? I see Green/White, Green/?
and Blue?

The US late 60's FJ40/45 have the special "Tail light" setting on the headlight switch that only turns on the tail lights. Wonder if this bulb is wired separately for that in Japan?

The attached pic is from a US 1971 FJ40. As you can see we don't have that extra bulb.
