Thought I'd share this over here on MUD since we're all Cruiserheads over here. I wanted a 100-series RC body since that's my 1:1 Cruiser, but they don't exist - so I'm testing my fab skills by making one from scratch. Plans are to make a solid positive with a good amount of detail, then make a mold from silicone, and finally produce a hard-body shell via plastic resin. It will most likely end up as a 1.9 scaler, though 1.55s might fit better for true-scale. I'll also play around with putting some Wraith axles and 2.2s under it as well.

Build is over on RC Crawler - Perkolator's Project Hundy

Here's how far I've gotten:

Awsome

That awsome, looking good, you should make them and sell them, I would defenetly buy one?

I want one as well. I need it for my scx10. Thanks.

not yet sadly, but still working on it slowly...had a kid and I'm finding this tends to put a damper on your free time. I should find some more recent pics to post up

thanks.
there's some progress on this build, but not a whole lot to look at unfortunately

hadn't even touched it in months, but actually this morning I randomly got a wild hair and decided to stick it in my car so I can shoot another coat of primer on it and keep working because it's been too long. maybe i'll do that after lunch. perhaps i'll even snap a pic or two in the current state - looks pretty good as-is and getting very close to make a first draft mold of it after i finish a few misc details.

Ok - got it resprayed with some primer. I still see plenty of sanding and filling to be done...

Yeah sorry guys. First child and life in general has gotten in the way. It's soooo close too, just need to make time. Goal is to finish the mold and cast some tests before end of year so my boy can have a sweet truck to play with for Xmas. Will let everyone know when it happens though. I want it just as much as you all do.

Nice work

Eh I guess so, I mean I still have the stuff, lol. Another kid, another house, acquired more 1:1 vehicles, "life" = project standstill :meh:

Hey hey, someone finally found some time to tinker in the shop! Been so long since I touched any of my RCs that the tires were rotted on both of my crawlers, crazy! Was able to get a functioning Cruiser and things are looking pretty great - it was sooo cool to watch it in action finally, I’m excited to work on this again!
I need to get some smaller tires for a scale version but for a durable body I already know I have to make my next casting with some extra plastic in a few places for more strength but otherwise it seems to work pretty well for a first try never using these materials or process before

Looks cool! I think @nukegoat would think your tires are exactly the correct scale!
