Don't make plans based on my schedule, as I'm dependent on other folks who could totally fall through at the last minute.
My plans to do this last year were scrapped the weekend before and I ended up running trails solo around Summit County
 
I would love to go, but doubt I will be able to make it. I have hiked that peak twice and remember some spots that looked like they would require working out your winch. There were lots of heeps up there one of the times I was there. There is trout fishing up around treeline, right near that run-down cabin Bionic camped at. We were backpacking and actually camped inside the cabin to block a lot of the wind.
 
so we are looking at me, Ali and maybe Pappy (come on the top is no excuse, bikini is fine). I'll try to get Frank along. it will take till the 29th to get my rig ready. Brock really wants to go and it will motivate him on getting his rig up and ready for next year.
 
I might be in for this. Working the overnight on Friday 28th, so, I'd need to throw down to get through the day.
 
From the monthly meeting on sat, here's the latest headcount:
-Matt FJ80
-Larry towing Frank's 40 (maybe)
-Ali FJ80
-Graham (if he can stay awake) Buggy
-Shawn FJ40 on steroids
-Pappy (if he can man up with the bikini top)
-Grant (is the tow rig is ready in time)
-Climbermac - the Gimp Tundra

for Pappy's info, I was thinking of going to a bikini top on my 40 for this one if I can swing it. not sure yet.
but the fuel system is back in order, new battery installed, additional roll cage almost done.
still needs- winch brake installed, heater shut off installed, fenders finished and installed, maybe a cold air box for the air filter. most of this is not make or break. if it's not finished, I'm going anyway. and Jill is considering going.
I believe I have all the parts needed. I'll need to drive it a bit too, to make sure everything else is working.

Is this trail going to be the first shake down run for this rig?
 
:lol: this rig has done the trail before, but for the record, it just hasn't been run in a while after finding the main problem. I had a primary fuel pump going bad that was killing the secondary high pressure one. it ran beatifully for years before these problems came up. I will get it out before the trip to be sure it runs well. it likes hard rock trails like this. run a while, stop and turn it off while we spot over an obstacle, then run a short while and do it over again.:steer:

I thought you were talking about taking the newly built rig. Can't wait to hear that beautiful exhaust sound again, uber cool! Besides, I need a heavy anchor rig for my winch [emoji3]
 
oh, that project isn't very close at all. I'm hoping next year, but that will be if we get to working harder.
 
Any chance you can revise that list with rigs? I'm still really interested in this run. I am fairly used to being the one gimp LWB but if it's ALL built SWB rock rigs I will just slow things down too much to have fun.

I'm not a for sure. Working the overnights beats me up more than it used to...I'm not that young anymore. Also, got soccer games on Saturday. I still have thoughts of rolling up late and hammering up the trail. I'd bring the buggy, if I come.

is that what you wanted? you are fine with a LWB rig. what do the 2 "I don't know"'s drive?
 
Matt is in an 80 and Grant has an '85 Toyota crawler or a '94 Toyota DD on 35's
