I love Quigley Down Under.....funny. We watched Legends of the Fall the other night for the 30th time. It is such an awesome movie. I think it is Montana that makes it so special. It and A River Runs through It always make me watch, no matter how many times I see it come on.....

We just watched Black Swan the other night, it was great. Natalie Portman is so hot. A bit too skinny in this role but still smoking hot. Good movie, not great, but good.

Heartily agree on Quigley. Watched it last night for probably the 20th time.

We bought Legends of the Fall last year, never get tired of watching it but paradoxically it makes me sad every time. Probably because I have a thing for Julia Ormand and can't get comfortable with her character's suicide.

Speaking of Ormond, a great book and equally excellent flick that was never a hit in the US is Smilla's Sense of Snow. Shot on location in Denmark and Greenland.

Has Ormond ever played a really happy role? It seems like she is always the tortured waif. Julie and I love her but I too feel sad by her characters. I would like to see her smile without the sad eye look.

Just watched

I heart huckabees...

Different.

Mark wahlberg's part was pretty funny. Love lilly tomlin.she had a nice quirky role.

Due Date with Robert downey jr and Zach Gallfiankais was pretty funny

Thor and X-men:first class are good summer popcorn movies. Thor has more action and is more entertaining.

Xmen has a lot of character build up but is a good movie that stays true to the comics. Hugh Jackman as Wolverine has a great cameo performance

Hangover II was a repeat of Hangover I, albeit set in Thailand. They did a nice job capturing the underbelly of Bangkok. Although I think they overplayed the "lost in Bangkok" theme...Bangkok is a pretty modern city and not as "rustic" as they portrayed it. If you liked Hangover I you will like Hangover II and probably the opposite holds true.

Watched Green Lantern a couple weekends ago. I thought it was a good movie for a comic book come to life. Blake Lively is pretty cute, and Ryan Reynolds will get your wife / girlfriend / whatever into the action.

Saw it tonight with my daughter. Pretty decent, not Thor quality. Decent entertainment for your dollar.

Agree on Thor and X-Men. Hugh's bit was great, made me spit Pepsi outta my nose! Thor has a pretty sweet Pinzgauer roaming around the desert, too, and I'm surprised the main girl could drive it. She just doesn't seem like the type to be able to know how to drive one...

The Boxer

My Dad and I watched The Boxer last night. True story of welterweight boxing champ Irish Mickey Ward and his brother.

Outstanding, even something in it for the ladies. Lotsa cussin so not for kids and sissy men. I'd give it an A+.

BTW, Amy Adams is hot.:D

Transformers 3 was good!

Horrible bosses had some good chuckles!

Captain America kicked all the arse!

The Fighter.....I LOVE true story movies like that. Christian Bale? WTF? Can you imagine losing that much weight?

Also, we went to see Harry Potter on Imax/3D and it was pretty cool. I was a bit lost since I had not seen one since the first movie, but overall I knew what was happening.

That was PG-13 and I am thinking about taking them to Captain America....thoughts?

I've heard that Capt America was good and kid-friendly, but haven't seen it yet myself.

I would take my kids to see it.

The red skull is basically a guy with a red skull. Can be scary for a young child if they scare easily.

No sexual content. Just a kiss or two.

It gets its PG 13 rating from the violence. They do a pretty good job of not showing people get shot by bullets, now disintegrated by electrical pulses, is another story. But it's not gory. Case can be made that they were sent some where else and not killed ; ) if your sensitive to that sort of thing.

Great movie with a great story.

That was me, not sheilala :rolls eyes:

I originally took mason to see cars 2 while Lilly was at a sleepover, but I screwed up the times, so I took the chance and went to see transformers 3 with him. We usually screen the movies before we let kids watch em. No sexual innuendoes like transformers to and just about the same amount of violence.
Mason absolutely loved it.

He yelled in a packed movie theatre " we got to get this movie" and " I love this movie". Luckily the peeps next to us thought it was cute.
