We caught The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo this evening. Disturbing, but an outstanding flick, best I've seen in a couple of years. I may go see it again next week.

Realistic violence and gore, and nudity. Not appropriate for kids.

Saw the subtitled one that came out a year or so ago, but haven't seen this one yet. The book trilogy was a pretty entertaining read as well.

as the father of a little girl that is literally the last thing in the entire world I want to think about LET ALONE watch in a movie....

.I love 2 things in a movie.....history type movies and good ole "John Wayne" type violence....they writhe and scream in pain with very little blood and then just fall off the horse....!!! haha

The first 1/4 of it is confusing but then it takes off like a rocket and does not slow down for the rest of the book and the two after it.

Agreed. The books read like movies (if that makes any sense).

I watched the sub titled one a while back. The violence is hardcore but it has its place in the story. It is not violent just to be violent.

What Nolen said x2. Definitely not a date flick. The violence isn't gratuitous. It's there because it lays the foundation for the central character's behavior. For those who find such themes offensive, save your time and don't read Larsson's books or see the movies.
