Since moving, we have not had TV setup, so we've watched a few movies lately.

One of my favorites is always Lemmony Snicket's (sp?) A Series of Unfortunate Events. It's definitely a child's movie, but still pretty entertaining. Has a great musical score.

Watched Snow White and the Huntsman. Good take on the Snow White fairy tale. Much darker than any other take, but solid movie.

Also saw The Campaign. Ranks as one of Will Farell's mid- to worst movies. Didn't think it was that funny.

Saw The Grey with Liam Neeson. Didn't know what I was expecting, but it definitely was pretty typical badassery from Liam. Good movie, but very dark and wouldn't watch with the chirrens.

Skyfall was good. I miss the bond gadgets though

Brought the kids to see Life of Pi. mistake. a 3D lion that wants to eat you for an hour..not good. Had two kiddies in my lap.

It's PG but add the sound system and 3D anger and its a little too intense.

I didn't expect that most of the movie would be that. I was hoping for a lot more visuals. Good movie though.

My kids went to one this weekend they loved, Night of the Guardians or something like that. They are still talking about it.

I was tempted to take them to see Rise of the Guardians after LIfe of Pi to get it off their minds.

1941 still makes me laugh.

Just watched "An Unfinished Life" with Robert Redford, Morgan Freeman, and Jenifer Lopez. Saw it several years ago but forgot what a great movie it was. Well worth a couple hours.

Watched The Bridge on the River Kwai again yesterday evening. Three plus hours zoned out while the wife was doing stuff around the house. That is a fantastic movie, but boy was she pissed.

In the same vein but from the Korean War era is Bridges at Toko-Ri. Aerial combat scenes are about as realistic as they get.

Lincoln

Very good history lesson. all talk no action.
Daniel Day Lewis was very good. Tommy Lee Jones was great as well.

Glad I saw it but you can wait for tape.

Glad to hear it's good, wanna see it this weekend.

Aren't there about 9 of those books? Sounds like good beach books

Yeah, start at beginning. They build on each other.

It's a bit of an issue to a military guy reading it because they make MP's out to be super cop soldiers, but if you can get past that, Reacher is a wildly cynical guy that likes to whoop ass.

True brain on shelf stuff with lots of smart assedness and action.

awesome.
